How much DC would have liked to win with five overs remaining! Though it was a pitch where the ball stopped and gripped, the hosts made it difficult for themselves by almost getting into a shell in the last five overs. Anyway, they are off the mark at last, and will hope they can carry this confidence. Until next time, it is goodnight and goodbye from Delhi for today!
Ishant Sharma is the Player of the Match for 2 for 19: "I was just waiting for my chance. That's all I was thinking. Every single day the areas [of bowling] change... we talk about the plans. There's no lucky charm in the team. We want to win every single game from here."
David Warner on their first win: "Great to get the two points. It's awesome; we are really proud of the bowling unit. We asked for wickets in the powerplay, and they did that. Again we lost wickets in a cluster. We can have those upfront conversations. We played an okay game."
Time for the presentations
Sourav Ganguly, DC'S Director of Cricket: "I was thinking it was like my first Test: happy to get off the mark! We have bowled well this season. These are good pitches and fast outfields, but the problem is the batting. We need to go back and look at ourselves as to how we can do better. Nortje has been outstanding. Good to see Ishant and Mukesh. I wouldn't say it is an inexperienced line-up... Many of them have been around for a long time. They also know it's time to put up a better batting performance."
Nitish Rana reflects on the close loss: "We were 15-20 runs short, and we knew the wicket wasn't easy. I should have batted longer, and at that time, my wicket was crucial. Credit to the bowlers, if they can even fight with this total. The plan was just to delay [their win]. Credit to DC too for their batting in the powerplay. We need to play well as a team... I'm sure we are playing well if we can fight even with such a low score."
Rahul: "Missed stumpings and fielding errors cannot happen when defending a low total..."
12.20am They get the points, but DC will ask themselves why and how they took it that far. At one stage, they needed 24 to win from 30 balls, with six wickets in hand; that went down to seven required from the last over. The KKR spinners turned the screw - even Nitish Rana and Anukul Roy contributed - but missed stumpings and fumbles in the field cost them in the end. Anyway, apart from the two points, Warner returning to his attacking best will encourage DC. Remember, they are still well and truly in the race. Stick around for the presentations.

Who bowls the last over? Umesh has the experience, but Rana chooses Khejroliya...
7 off 6
Rana doesn't bowl after getting into his stride... Mind games...
Ishant was the Player of the Match in his first IPL game since 2019, while Warner returned to his aggressive approach

"The real red flag is their batting, and the inconsistency that they've shown in that five-game period is quite remarkable"
KKR have their own problems, which could be the perfect time for Capitals to face them
