9:06pm A strange, little innings. KKR lost Gurbaz early in the piece but then roared back in the powerplay, with Rahane and Narine finding the fence regularly. But then, the spin-squeeze began, with Ashwin, Jadeja and Noor all bowling tidy overs. Noor, of course, was the pick of the bunch and showed off his wares towards the end too, finishing with a four-wicket haul. Pathirana, who was expensive in his first three overs, also fought back well to ensure KKR did not cross 180.
Speaking of KKR, they did slow down through the middle but the runs they managed at the start, and those that Russell got towards the end, means they have a very good total on the board, especially on a track that is turning, and given they have two world-class spinners in their ranks. Rahane top-scored with 48 and having seen what is happening in the middle, might feel quietly confident of defending this score and keeping their playoff dreams alive. Join us in a bit for the chase!
Manish Pandey: (On his thoughts about the innings) Maybe ten runs, just from my side (short). I could have gotten two or three big hits. Happy that Russell did his job, and so did Rinku. The wicket is slow, and we have top quality-spinners, and if they can do (their job), we will be good to go. Thought I will stay there for a while and take the team through, hoping we can bowl well and win this game. Our fast bowlers are doing a really good job. The top two spinners are winning us games all the way, and backing our bowlers.
173 on the board already, and KKR are likely to go beyond 180, which will be a very good score on this surface. Pathirana to bowl. Four fielders out on the leg-side fence

Sreshth tells me Ramandeep was doing push-ups near the boundary line, and he has now come out to bat. Can that extra warm-up help him and KKR?

Noor to bowl the 19th, which seems the right call, given how he has bowled and the spin on offer. But spinners can be lined up at the death, which is what KKR will be aiming to do. Over the wicket to Rinku

Rinku is the new batter in. At the other end for now, though. Pathirana to Pandey for the start of the 18th
