Aravind: "Second fastest IPL 50 if I'm not wrong? Vaguely recall a13 ball fifty but not sure who" -- Yes, it is the joint-second fastest fifty in IPL cricket. Jaiswal sits at the top with his 13-ball effort.

Here's Sampath with a few amazing stats. 54 runs by RCB in the last two overs are the most by any team across 19 and 20 in an IPL innings. Previous highest was 53 by DC vs GT in 2024. Romario Shepherd scored 52 off those two overs. Only one batter scored 50+ runs in a men's T20 innings (where BBB is available) across 19th and 20th overs before Romario - Dipendra Singh Airee (52 vs Mongolia in 2023).

9:14pm Wow. What a whirlwind finish to that innings. RCB looked set to finish well below 200 after 18 overs but then, Shepherd took matters into his own hands. Khaleel was torn apart in the 19th in a 33-run over, before Shepherd plundered Pathirana (and probably CSK) into submission. 54 runs came off the last two, and that has propelled RCB to an above-par total, and a target they will be very happy with.

Prior to that, Bethell and Kohli gave the fans their money's worth, each registering sublime half-centuries. In fact, it needed a strong rear-guard effort from Noor and Pathirana to halt RCB's charge, only for CSK to run out of ideas and steam towards the end. They have not chased a 180-plus score since 2018 and based on that, there is no doubt which team is ahead at the break. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Jacob Bethell: Pretty incredible to watch, did not think he middled a lot of balls, but that just shows his power. We were trying to look down the ground and react to everything else. It (the pitch) was not bouncing much. Feedback from Virat was that it was a better wicket up top and we tried to capitalize. There was not much swing up top, which made it easier. It was pretty cool to match this intensity and nice to spend some time out in the middle tonight. When I walked off, I said 210, so happy with three more than that. Had a bit of a stumble (through the middle), but hopefully our spinners can do something similar.

Pathirana to Shepherd, SIX, Shepherd sends this into orbit! Shepherd brings up a 14-ball fifty, and RCB finish on 213! Another slot ball outside off and this is just what Shepherd wants. He sits deep in his crease, goes through the line and smashes the living daylights out of this one. Clean strike over long off, and there are beaming smiles in the RCB camp, and why shouldn't there be!

Shepherd is 47 off 13 and en route a 14-ball half-century. Against the five-time champions

Pathirana to Shepherd, SIX, taxi, where are you?! Haul that ball back, please! Right in the slot, tailing into leg stump. Shepherd gets his front foot out of the way and mooses it over cow corner!

200 up for RCB. CSK on the ropes

Pathirana to Shepherd, FOUR, four more! Misses the yorker on the shorter side on middle and off, and Pathirana travels. Shepherd clears his front leg and heaves it to long on's right!

Pathirana to Shepherd, no run, fullish in the channel just outside off. Shepherd has an almighty swish at it and only swats away a few flies in the process. Lets out a cry of anguish, and he is audibly frustrated

Pathirana to Shepherd, FOUR, Pathirana comes in for punishment too! Slower ball dragged half-way down the track. Shepherd spots it early and clobbers it to deep mid wicket's right!

Right. Pathirana versus Shepherd

Pathirana to David, 1 run, zipped in very full on leg stump. David gets his feet out of the way and works it towards deep square leg. Just a single

Pathirana to bowl the 20th. 210 back on the cards

Ahmed to Shepherd, no run, finally nails the yorker and gets it wide outside Shepherd's arc. He tries to dig it out but is just a little late in jamming his bat down. The batters have a chat and then review it. Shepherd was standing just a little outside off and the ball passes through inside the revised guideline. Non-wide call stays!

Free hit coming up

Ahmed to Shepherd, (no ball) SIX, goodness gracious me - that is the shot of the night! And it is a No ball too. Khaleel has lost the plot completely here! Slower bumper outside off. Shepherd leaps up onto his toes like a salmon and creams it while being mid-air. Over the deep extra cover fence, and the wheels are coming off for Khaleel!

Around the wicket now

Ahmed to Shepherd, SIX, 22 off the over already, and Khaleel has been ripped to shreds! Juicy full toss outside off and Shepherd needs no second invitation. He stands tall and bangs it over long off!

Ahmed to Shepherd, FOUR, four more! Khaleel is leaking runs at the death again! Slower ball on a full length outside off. Shepherd swings himself off his feet and gets an outside edge that loops over Pathirana at short third!

Ahmed to Shepherd, SIX, back to back sixes! Right in the slot on middle and off, and Shepherd climbs into this. Swings through the line and boshes it over long off!

Ahmed to Shepherd, SIX, Shepherd goes big! Half-tracker outside off and this has hit-me all over it, written in caps. Shepherd lines it up and whacks it over deep mid wicket!

Khaleel to bowl the penultimate over. He can travel at the death at times. But before all of that, there is a slight hold-up. Not sure why exactly yet. Fleming is chatting to the fourth umpire beyond the boundary. Noor made his way off the field for an over and has not come back on, which the umpires say he must do. He is back on now, and we move

Pathirana to Shepherd, 1 run, fullish on the pads and Shepherd gets away with this. Flicks it uppishly and it falls just in front of Kamboj at fine leg. A case could be made that Pathirana got away with this too, because of the line of the delivery

Pathirana to Shepherd, 1 wide, short and way outside off. Shepherd jumps up onto his toes to swish at it and misses. Wide not given but Shepherd wants to have another look. Seems to be beyond the tramlines on the first replay, and the umpire agrees with that assessment. Wide given!

Pathirana to Shepherd, no run, get that head out of the way too! Pathirana welcomes the new batter with a bumper on off. Shepherd sizes it up early enough and sways away

Shepherd is the new batter in. Keep those toes out of the way, Romario

Pathirana to Patidar, OUT, straight to Sam Curran, and Pathirana takes down the RCB captain! Slower ball on a length wide outside off. With mid off up, Patidar fancies his chances but he cannot get the connection he wants. Scuffs it rather gently and Curran, stood right on the circle, does not err. CSK bag another, and RCB's captain departs after an uncharacteristically scratchy innings!

Pathirana to Patidar, no run, dug into the track and slanting further away because of the slingy action. Patidar has a waft at it and only grabs a handful of fresh air

Pathirana to David, 1 run, did that carry?! Short outside off and David throws his hands at it. Cuts it uppishly, though, and Mhatre lets it slip through his hands. Replays indicate it might have just carried. How costly could that prove to be?

Pathirana to Patidar, 1 run, dug into the track on middle and leg. Patidar swipes at it but does not get the timing he desires. Cloths it tamely towards fine leg

The ball has held and gripped as the ball has gotten older, and that may not be a bad sign for RCB. Pathirana again. Patidar on strike

Noor Ahmad to David, no run, floated up full on middle and leg. David plants his front foot and defends it to the bowler's right. Sets off for a single, only to be sent back. No damage done

David strides out. He inflicted a lot of damage the last time these sides met. RCB would not mind a similar dose tonight. One legal ball left in Noor's spell. Slip in place

Noor Ahmad to Sharma, OUT, a smart relay catch on the fence, and that will be that for Jitesh with the bat tonight! Dug into the track outside off and this sticks in the surface again. Jitesh has a swipe across the line but the lack of pace means the ball clunks off the toe-end. Curran runs around to his right at long on, takes the catch initially and then pops it to Brevis just as his momentum is about to take him past the rope! CSK chipping away nicely here!
