We should have a thrilling chase on our hands. Join Himanshu soon for the second innings.
Here is Sampath with a mind-boggling stat: DC scored 125 in 10.3 overs outside of the Porel-Rahul's partnership (63 in 9.3). -- of course, 23 of those runs came off one Tushar Deshpande over courtesy Porel.
More from Deep Gadhia of our stats team: First time in last 7 matches at Delhi, 200 hasn't been crossed in the first innings. Last time a team didn't put up 200 in the first innings was PBKS in 2023.
Abishek Porel: "The wicket is a little slow. The ball is stopping a little, so good total. We kept the positive intent that we have to use the powerplay because it started slowing from the third over. Short of good length, the slower you bowl in that area, the better it is in that area. Hopefully our spinners will do well. There is no dew yet. The wicket is a little sticky, but let's see how it goes. When Axar played that knock, it really shifted the momentum and then Stubbs finished it well. On this wicket, it's a really good total."
9.20pm Some impactful death batting, and the Royals bowlers slipping up towards the end, have helped Delhi Capitals reach 188 for 5 in the end. Royals bowled brilliantly till Axar Patel came in to bat and then the DC skipper hammered 34 off 14. Stubbs and Ashutosh then tonked 42 off 19 to take Capitals to a total that looks very good on what looks like a tricky wicket.
