Zaheer: "Priyansh Arya's knock reminded me of Paul Valthaty -- an amazing innings from the young lad!"

9:07pm That was a strange innings. Five of the top six fell for single-digit scores. But the one who didn't lit up Mullanpur like very few have. Ever. He began his innings with a six and even though he was dropped off the second ball he faced, he kept swinging and he kept smashing the ball to all parts. He was helped along the way with another dropped catch, but the quality of his stroke-play, plus the purity of his ball-striking was a sight to behold. Jansen and Shashank, who bagged a half-century himself, later ensured that Arya's work was not undone, and PBKS have a massive total on the board.

CSK were very inconsistent. And not for the first time this season. They picked up three in the powerplay but also conceded 75. Then, Ashwin nabbed two in quick succession but CSK could not capitalize. Their fielding and catching was severely under-par. Gaikwad's captaincy also left plenty to be desired, and they now have a mountain to climb in yet another run-chase. History is against CSK, but crazier things have happened in this sport and in this league. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Priyansh Arya: I am not very expressive, but I am feeling very good. After the last match, he (Shreyas) told me to back my strength and play the way I want. I was thinking that if I got the ball in my slot, I would hit it for six. I want to express myself and not get bogged down (while batting). (On the pitch) The ball is coming on nicely. It is not turning much. We have to bowl in good areas and take as many wickets as we can in the powerplay.

Pathirana to Shashank Singh, 3 runs, full outside off. Shashank gets his hands through the ball and drills it past extra cover. Noor comes around from long off, puts in the slide and seems to save a single. Shashank, either way, gets to his fifty, and PBKS finish with 219!

Last ball coming up

Frank: "I have not seen any other team that struggles to take wickets, not giving the full quota for 2 consecutive matches to the purple cap holder." -- Gaikwad's captaincy has been a little perplexing...

Pathirana to Jansen, SIX, clean as a whistle! Slower ball on a fullish length on off stump. Drops on Jansen late but he continues with his swing. Full extension of those long levers and he slams this over the bowler's head!

Anjum kabir: "Calculated attack for recognized batters to play all overs!!"

Ahmed to Jansen, 2 leg byes, back of a length delivery that pitches a mile outside leg. Skips off and raps Jansen on the pads, perhaps on leg stump. Khaleel appeals as the ball rolls towards backward point. Choudhary fires a needless throw at the bowler's end and they concede another

Amith: "Can PBKS sub out a batter that's already gotten out and get another one?" -- They can, but looks unlikely now with just two overs remaining. Khaleel to bowl the 19th

1
Pathirana to Shashank Singh, 1 run, did Shashank hit it? If not, he might be in trouble here! Full toss on middle and leg. Tails in a little and Shashank seems to get an inside edge before the ball strikes him on the pad. CSK go upstairs because, well, why not. Clear inside edge and our original suspicion has been confirmed. Decision stays, and CSK lose a review!
