9:12pm No team had ever scored 200 at this venue in the IPL before. Now, the Royals have. And they have done it through a nice, collective effort. Jaiswal, who got to his first half-century of the season, set the platform alongside captain Samson. Rana then sizzled during his short stay, before Hetmyer, Jurel and most crucially, Parag powered through at the death. There might have been times during the innings when it felt RR were not proactive enough, but they will be pretty happy with what they have on the board.

PBKS, unlike their first two games, were unable to pick up wickets throughout the innings, meaning RR could capitalize at different points. Arshdeep and Ferguson were tidier than the others, but the bowling attack, in general, lacked a bit of penetration and incision. No team, of course, has chased these many at this venue in the IPL before, but no team had gone past 200 either until a few minutes ago. Join us in a bit for this chase!

Yashasvi Jaiswal: I am feeling very good. I really enjoyed today. I think I was just keeping my intent - wanted to play my shots and get into a rhythm. I have been trying, really enjoyed it. The way I played today, I was happy. (On the pitch) Wicket was (playing) really well initially. The cutters are stopping a bit and that would be good for our bowlers.

1
Stoinis to Jurel, 1 run, an anti-climactic end to the innings! Slow and short outside off. Jurel gets up on his toes and pulls it on the bounce to deep mid wicket. Just a single, and the Royals end up with 205!
19.5
4
Stoinis to Jurel, FOUR, this is superb batting! Slower bumper outside off that is so short that Stoinis' toe-nail is lucky it is still intact. Jurel waits and waits and waits and waits for it before upper-cutting it over the keeper's head!
19.4
6
Stoinis to Jurel, SIX, Jurel wants a piece of Stoinis too, and stop the press folks, because 200 has been breached in the IPL at Mullanpur! Juicy full toss that also offers Jurel some swinging room. He tees it up and smokes it over cow corner!
19.3
1
Stoinis to Parag, 1 run, back of a length wide outside off. Parag reaches out for it and chalks it off the toe-end towards long off. Stoinis did well to get it outside Parag's arc on that occasion
19.2
6
Stoinis to Parag, SIX, right out of the screws! Oh my goodness - that has travelled! Off-pace and this sits up nicely outside off. Parag picks it early and then clatters it a mile over deep mid wicket! An 88m six!

1
Stoinis to Jurel, 1 run, back of a length on off. Jurel opens up his stance and hacks it towards deep mid wicket. Just a single

Stoinis to bowl the last over. A bit of a gamble this from PBKS. 200 has never been breached at this venue in the IPL before, and RR have a chance to do so here

Arshdeep Singh to Jurel, 1 run, off-pace on a back of a length just outside off. Jurel jabs it enough to extra cover's left and gets off the mark

Arshdeep Singh to Hetmyer, OUT, Hetmyer shanks this, and Hetmyer perishes! Low full toss tailing into leg stump. Hetmyer looks to slog it over cow corner but gets under it too much. Gets more height than distance and Maxwell, stationed at long on, was never going to drop that. Easy as you like, and Arshdeep has his first wicket of the evening!

SO Hetmyer c Maxwell b Arshdeep Singh 20 (23m 12b 2x4 1x6) SR: 166.66

4
Arshdeep Singh to Hetmyer, FOUR, that is a serious shot! Banged into the track outside off. Hetmyer stands up tall and clubs the living daylights out of this one. Deep mid wicket did not have to move a lot to his right but he still had no chance!
18.3
1
Arshdeep Singh to Parag, 1 run, low full toss outside off. Parag clinks it down the ground towards long off
18.2
1
Arshdeep Singh to Hetmyer, 1 run, another cutter bowled into the track outside off. Hetmyer plays a forehand like Rafael Nadal once used to but only picks up a single to extra cover

A slight delay as one of the zing bails seems to be malfunctioning

18.1
2
Arshdeep Singh to Hetmyer, 2 runs, slower ball into the track wide outside off. Hetmyer drags it into the mid wicket region and then hurtles back for two. He called for two early and showed enough conviction

Right. Two overs left. 200 very much a possibility and if RR can breach that barrier, this will be a tough chase for PBKS, despite their batting depth. Arshdeep to bowl the 19th, meaning that one of Stoinis, Maxwell or Chahal will have to bowl the 20th. PBKS have made their change, with Priyansh Arya replacing Chahal

END OF OVER:

1
Jansen to Hetmyer, 1 run, low full toss on middle and off. Hetmyer jams down on it and digs it out towards long on
17.5
1
Jansen to Parag, 1 run, safe again! Back of a length outside off. Parag looks to tonk it into tomorrow and miscues it so badly that it barely crosses the ring in the mid on region. Maxwell (stood at long on) had no chance
17.4
2
Jansen to Parag, 2 runs, goes straight up, and goes straight down! Slower ball hung up full and wide. Parag is too early into the stroke and chips it a mile up. Jansen calls early, runs back but cannot lay hands on it as the ball drops inside the circle in the mid on region!
17.3
6
Jansen to Parag, SIX, serious whippage, and Parag has back-to-back sixes! Half-volley on the pads and it gets the treatment it deserves. Parag does so with a flourish (literally and figuratively), and dumps it over the fine leg season!
17.2
6
Jansen to Parag, SIX, Parag goes bang! No problems spotting this slower one! Back of a length outside off and this sits up. Parag watches it all the way and bulldozes it over long on!
17.1
1lb
Jansen to Hetmyer, 1 leg bye, slower ball, angling in full on leg stump. Hetmyer plays all around his flick and the ball dribbles off his pad towards short third

Jansen to bowl the 18th. Hetmyer looking to take him downtown

raven : "Lockie a bit too fast for parag it seems." -- On the contrary, Parag has struggled with the slower ones in these past two overs...

Ferguson to Hetmyer, 1 run, back of a length just outside off. Hetmyer gets up on his toes and stabs it towards mid off
16.5
6
Ferguson to Hetmyer, SIX, through the hands! Oh dear - that might come back to sting PBKS! Shortish outside leg. Hetmyer gets inside the line and hacks it towards fine leg. Chahal runs around but the ball just bursts through his hands. Not the greatest of efforts, but just the outcome RR would have wanted!
16.5
2w
Ferguson to Parag, 2 wides, off-pace again but hung up wider outside off. Parag swishes and misses, and the keeper cannot gather either. Two bonus runs for RR. PBKS have reviewed this, and this is touch-and-go. Right on the line and the third umpire says no part of the ball is inside the guideline. Wide call stays!
16.4
0
Ferguson to Parag, no run, another slower bumper outside off and another wild swing and miss (surprise, surprise). Parag is not reading these off the hand and has not been able to adjust at all
16.3
0
Ferguson to Parag, no run, slower ball on a back of a length outside off, and Parag is back to his duty of swatting away flies. A couple of business days early on that one
16.2
1
Ferguson to Hetmyer, 1 run, oh dear - that is a terrible mix-up and probably a worse throw! Dug into the track just outside off. Hetmyer knocks it into the mid wicket region. Parag wants the second, Hetmyer does not. Ferguson gives chase initially but cannot get the throw away. Shedge with the throw but that is straight into the turf and bounces up sluggishly, allowing Parag to get back
16.1
0
Ferguson to Hetmyer, no run, back of a length, angling across the batter outside off. Hetmyer goes chasing after it but cannot catch hold of it

avesh: "RR middle order is struggling to accelerate their run rate." -- Those two boundaries by Parag have certainly helped their cause. Ferguson to bowl out. Over the wicket
