9:13pm 78 runs. That was how many KKR scored in the last five and that ignited an innings that was a little devoid of spark, despite Rahane and Raghuvanshi doing their best to consolidate and accelerate. The latter brought up his second half-century, although that was soon overshadowed by Venkatesh, who took his time at the start but then turned on the style as the death overs dawned. Rinku, who finished unbeaten on 32, was not shabby either.

SRH will feel they let KKR off the hook. At 122-4 after 15 overs, they had a chance to keep them under 180, but they lost the plot, meaning they now have to get more than 200 to bag their second win. Their spinners were good, which made Cummins' decision to bowl them for only four overs combined a little perplexing. They will not baulk at this score, but they will feel they could have been chasing much lesser. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Venkatesh Iyer: The ball was holding on a bit, not the Eden (Gardens pitch) I am used to playing at. We feel we have a good score, a very competitive score (on the board). I did not get a lot of runs in the first two games, so just wanted to get a feel of the wicket. Credit has to go to them (Rahane and Raghuvanshi) for the way they handled. They (SRH) bowled well, and the ball was holding. The message was to take your time and then go all-out. (On playing domestic cricket) It helps a lot. BCCI has now made it mandatory to play domestic and that is an opportunity for all of us, to go up against new bowlers. It is a challenge to play domestic and I don't miss a chance to go and even play club cricket.

Patel to Russell, OUT, dug into the track outside off and Russell cannot make the most of it. Swings at it wildly and only swats away a few flies. He also ventures out of his crease, trying to pinch a bye and is caught unawares as Klaasen hits the stumps at the batter's end. Russell dismissed, and KKR end with 200!

AD Russell run out 1 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50

Russell on strike for what should be the final ball of this innings. 200 up already

1
Patel to Singh, 1 run, full and wide outside off. Rinku reaches out for it and clinks it towards sweeper cover. Just a single

1w
Patel to Singh, 1 wide, slower bumper outside off and this seems to balloon over the batter's head. Rinku nearly swings himself off his feet and when he settles down, he sees the square leg umpire's arms outstretched. But now SRH will review because, well, why not. Seems to be above the batter's head, despite Rinku jumping up and the wide call stays!

1
Patel to Russell, 1 run, banged into the track outside off. Russell tries to hit it too hard and scuffs it towards extra cover

Right. Dre Russ is in. With three balls left in the innings. KKR on the verge of 200. Long on, deep mid wicket, deep point, deep backward point and long off on the fence

Patel to Iyer, OUT, high into the night sky, and taken on the fence! That almost touched the moon and came back! Slower ball on a full length on middle and leg. Venkatesh, after shimmying his socks off, stands still in his normal stance and gets under it. Gets under it too much in the end, though, and does not get the adequate distance. Aniket settles himself at long on and does the rest!

Patel to Iyer, FOUR, that is dreadful bowling, but KKR will not mind one bit! Thigh-high full toss kissing the wide line, with short third up. That is asking for trouble and Venkatesh, even though he does not middle it, slashes it over that fielder for four. KKR have also reviewed it, arguing it should be a No ball. Might be a little optimistic but no harm in trying, eh? Venkatesh's waist is measured at 1.13m and the ball is passing the popping crease at 1.01m. Fair delivery, but KKR still get four!

6
Patel to Iyer, SIX, smashed over long on first ball! Slower ball on a back of a length outside off and Venkatesh reads it like the morning newspaper. Sets himself up and slams it over the fence!

Well well. How quickly has this game changed. KKR seemed to be struggling to get to 180, and now, they are within reach of 200. And having gotten this far, they will want to breach that barrier. Harshal to bowl the last over, around the wicket

Cummins to Iyer, 1 leg bye, length ball that follows Venkatesh a mile outside leg. He misses his swing and the ball bobbles off the pads behind square
18.5
2
Cummins to Iyer, 2 runs, low full toss on the stumps. Venkatesh drills it back towards the bowler, who gets his boot in the way. The ball then trickles towards long on, who hits the stumps at the bowler's end, and KKR get a run off the deflection, which means Venkatesh brings up a 25-ball fifty!
18.4
4
Cummins to Iyer, FOUR, oh my - Venkatesh is like a house on fire now! Full and wide, tries to bluff the batter, who backs away early. Venkatesh, though, uses his long reach to perfection. Gets bat on it and also scythes it over backward point!

57 runs have come off the last 20 balls

18.3
4
Cummins to Iyer, FOUR, everything is travelling to the fence now! This seems like a good yorker, tailing into the pads but such is KKR's momentum that Venkatesh, somehow, manages to squeeze this out behind square. Onto the practice pitches and that races away!
18.2
6
Cummins to Iyer, SIX, more catching practice for the crowd! Another slower bumper and this sits up on off stump. Venkatesh picks it up and pummels it over deep square leg!
18.1
4
Cummins to Iyer, FOUR, innovation at its best! Cutter bowled into the track on middle and off. Venkatesh walks across, plays four strokes in his mind and then eventually makes contact with his fifth attempt, which is a ramp over the keeper's head!

Sid: "Cummins' lack of confidence in his spinners is visible in this innings." -- Could easily have slipped in another Kamindu over, especially when Rinku was new at the crease. Cummins back now, hoping to arrest this new-found KKR momentum

Simarjeet Singh to Iyer, 1 run, back of a length outside off. Venkatesh has a massive heave at it and drags it towards deep mid wicket
17.4
4
Simarjeet Singh to Iyer, FOUR, four more! Venkatesh is coming to the party too now! Off-pace short ball on middle and leg. Venkatesh opens up his stance and slugs it to deep mid wicket's left!
17.3
4
Simarjeet Singh to Iyer, FOUR, just past the fielder, and that hurtles into the fence! Slow, short, wide and it gets the treatment it deserves. Venkatesh stands tall and slaps it just to extra cover's left!

Patel to Singh, FOUR, and that is more scratchy fielding on the fence! Slower full toss wide outside off. Rinku opens his bat face and glides it towards deep backward point. Aniket makes an absolute meal of it, and Rinku gets some bonus runs!
