9.25pm Rahul Tripathi is padded up, is it possible either Ravindra or Gaikwad doesn't open? Chahar is having an animated chat with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey while S Raju tosses the ball in his hand. And here's Ekanth now, be nice to him the way Chahar was to CSK tonight...

9.11pm That may not be par but it's above 150 and far better than what may have looked like for MI after they were 128 for 8. Remember, they were looking to bat first and their start wasn't too bad but it was the spin squeeze in the middle overs which dried up the boundaries, Noor kept the batters guessing which way the ball will go, and Jadeja and Ashwin leaked a few but not too many loose balls. CSK gave two lives early on but they're lucky they didn't prove to be too costly, whereas MI will hope the 27 runs Deepak Chahar got them in the last two overs has given them something to defend. Do they have a bowling attack to defend this though, without Bumrah and Hardik? You will find out with Ekanth soon if Boult can work his magic and if Santner can do a Chahar to punish his ex-team

Khaleel Ahmed: I felt very good in the powerplay. I love swing and it's my strength so it gives me the chance to bowl a third over in the powerplay. Initially we were looking for swing but it wasn't swinging much. Noor, Jaddu bhai and Ashwin bhai bowled very well so 156 looks easy to chase. Can't say anything in cricket though but the way our batters have been batting, it should be gettable

learning_to_fly: "Got a feeling that this will be a cliff hanger of a game - from a neutral viewer of this game who is a KKR fan. "

kaig: "dew update?" Hard to say right now but SKY had said at the toss that they weren't expecting dew. They are using the dew ropes and those vehicles with mats behind them so looks like there might be dew

Ellis to Chahar, FOUR, another boundary as Ellis finishes with a short ball and Chahar finishes with a pull that he may not have middled, but got enough on to send it wide of short fine leg. Ellis is livid with himself while Chahar punches the air

Ellis to Chahar, no run, pretty wide outside off, swinging away too and he lets it go. Not called a wide and Chahar calls for a review. Let's look at the replays - Chahar started with a stance way outside off and the wide line moves with that, and even though Chahar moved back to the normal stance, the ball was within the moved wide line. Decision upheld

1
Ellis to Raju, 1 run, 113.1kmh, doesn't turn out badly as Raju pulls the short and slow ball square for one

Another IPL debutant on strike

1
Ellis to Chahar, 1 run, slams the full delivery wide of cover this time, and they've run across. Should Chahar have farmed the strike?

Over the wicket again

6
Ellis to Chahar, SIX, into the stands! It's short, it's slow, it's pulled away with watchful eyes and he has middled that to send it sailing over deep midwicket

Around the wicket now

2
Ellis to Chahar, 2 runs, slow and wide yorker, Chahar gets an inside edge off the big swing past the stumps and they scamper back for the second

Last over, will Chahar farm the strike? Ellis to bowl out. CSK also sub out Khaleel for Rahul Tripathi

Ahmed to Boult, OUT, skied down the ground and the captain settles under it, pouches it easily. Khaleel ends his quota with his third strike, makes it 3 for 29. Boult backed away for a big hit but he didn't get much on that slower ball that was short, sent it quite high down the ground which Gaikwad settled under easily

TA Boult c Gaikwad b Ahmed 1 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50

1
Ahmed to Chahar, 1 run, some width outside off but not much pace, cuts it away for one with some power
18.4
1
Ahmed to Boult, 1 run, Boult in the action now, he scythes this in the air over point and there's a fielder in the deep. So only one
18.3
1
Ahmed to Chahar, 1 run, angling in, Chahar swats it away to long-on and Jadeja teases them by leaving the ball in front of him. The crowd loves it

Khaleel goes around

18.2
6
Ahmed to Chahar, SIX, lands this one next to the sight screen! Deepak Chahar asks for a promotion in the batting order. This is some clean hitting from Chahar. Gets one in the slot outside off and this time Chahar doesn't need to move, lofts it straight down over long-off
18.1
4
Ahmed to Chahar, FOUR, flays it over the covers and Deepak Chahar loves that! He made room early, manufactured room for the slower ball outside off and sent it flying over the covers

Can MI bat out the 20 overs? Boult joins Chahar now, Khaleel for his last

Ellis to Santner, OUT, 135.2kmh, this ain't a slower one as Santner misses this one on the stumps, appeal for lbw and CSK are interested in this. Is it high? Because it was a short of length ball. They review the not out decision. No bat there, and there you go - ball-tracking says that's hitting top of middle! Excellent review

Ellis to Chahar, 1 leg bye, really slow back of length on off, he swivels on the back foot to swat it to leg but he's beaten by pace. Only a leg bye

Vivek: "Minz replacing Ishan - keeper from Jharkhand replacing keeper from Jharkhand while playing against keeper from Jharkhand." What happens in Jharkhand stays in Jharkhand

Ellis to Chahar, 2 runs, slower ball on off which Chahar picks, he rolls his wrists over that to flick to leg and he wants two. A slightly wayward throw otherwise Chahar was struggling

Ellis to Santner, no run, on length on middle and leg, he defends it back this time

Ellis to Santner, FOUR, over mid-off for four! After all those nudges and pushes, Santner unleashes a classy straight drive lofted over mid-off with a wonderful follow through for a one-bounce four

Ellis for his third

END OF OVER:

  • Deepak Chahar1 (4b)

Just two from that, Noor finishes with stunning figures of 4 for 18. Has he turned the match?

Noor Ahmad to Chahar, no run, the googly from outside off, Chahar pokes and misses. He nearly left that one as the bat was a long way inside

Sai Sankar Ravi: "@Anjan, I don't see MI scoring 160"

Noor Ahmad to Santner, 1 run, punched into the covers off the back foot and they get one more

Noor Ahmad to Chahar, no run, full and wide, driven along the ground but straight to cover

Deepak Chahar, also from CSK to MI like Santner. A slip for him. Noor on a hat-trick

W
Noor Ahmad to Naman Dhir, OUT, bowled around his legs and Naman Dhir can barely believe it! Fourth wicket for Noor Ahmad and what a way to get that fourth. Pitches it just outside leg, Dhir goes for the sweep, misses the sweep, and it's the wrong'un that goes on to rattle leg stump. Dhir looks back at the stumps and then towards the bowler. Did that really happen?

Naman Dhir b Noor Ahmad 17 (18m 12b 1x4 0x6) SR: 141.66

Four overs to go, maybe one more for a spinner. Khaleel has only one left. Will Curran get some? Here's Noor first

Anjan: "I don't see CSK chasing 160. Looks like a good turning track." What?! No faith in the young batting line-up?
