9.30pm Exactly two hours to finish those 20 overs, although some leeway shouldd be given because it's very humid out there and there were some injury concerns too. The MI bowlers had started really well with swing of both kinds from Thushara and Tendulkar before a spin strangle from Chawla and Wadhera, bowling for the first time this IPL, had LSG on 69 for 3 in the 10th over. Since KL Rahul was holding on to one end, Pooran feasted on the pace bowling he was served by MI, not facing a single ball from Chawla. He belted eight sixes, whether MI attempted wide yorkers to him or tried to close to the stumps, hitting almost everything out of the park. Rahul got a 37-ball fifty in a total of 214 and LSG stuttered a bit towards the end before Badoni's big hits got them 36 runs off the last 17 balls. There are signs of dew there with the super-soppers doing there thing in the break. Karthik Krishnaswamy will start the chase with hopes that the second lot of 20 overs doesn't take another two hours.
"MI captain hardik going to ban next match for slow overrate." Nicely done, Tom
Jay: "MI is finding life to be very difficult in the end overs due to the absence of Jasprit Bumrah."
Pooran: It's a similar situation I've seen over the years in franchise cricket. I've worked really hard and I get my confidence from training for it. I've been training a lot for the sixes over the years and I'm blessed I'm talented. I always want to get better and want to be the best version of myself. There's not much you can tell the bowlers, everyone has different skills. I'd want this total to be enough.
