5:16pm That innings didn't really go anywhere. Gaikwad and Mitchell bossed the powerplay and at that stage, it seemed CSK were on course for a 200-plus score. Gaikwad, though, fell in the eighth over, with Dube being dismissed off the very next ball. That set CSK back and they just could not recover.
Jadeja played a handy knock to get CSK past 160 but a lot of their batting, both in terms of execution and their planning, left a bit to be desired. The decision to hold Dhoni back for so long was also perplexing.
As for Punjab, everything they tried post the first time-out came off. Chahar set the ball rolling, with Harshal then coming into his own through the middle overs and at the death. Arshdeep and Rabada were expensive but given the power CSK had, the hosts will be thrilled to have restricted them to 167.
That said, there is just a little in it for the bowlers. The odd ball was holding, while a few skidded on. If CSK have enough on the board is another matter altogether, but we could be in for a tricky run-chase, especially if there are early wickets. Join us in a bit for the second innings.
Harshal Patel: I definitely misjudged the wicket (earlier when I said it was a good track), it was a bit on the drier side. The ball that we hit on the hard length, it was not going off fast. It is not stopping but it is definitely a slow wicket. (On the celebration after getting Dhoni out) I have too much respect for him to celebrate when I get him out. One of the advantages of playing a day game is that the square is rough. If you hit the square hard, then the ball reverses. It was starting to reverse and that makes it difficult for the batters to hit it. (On the slower yorker) I was not really confident with those initially. I have been working on them consistently. It is all about feel, no real technique. More you bowl it, the better you get. I have been practicing it in the nets and it usually gives you great results (in matches if you get it right).

Dhoni sitting deep in his crease
A royal welcome for MS Dhoni as he strides out. He has just eight deliveries to make an impact, though. CSK, as things stand, still seem well below-par

Mayank: "This IPL season Rahane has played 10 matches and has NOT even scored a total of 200 runs. And this is hurting CSK big time. " -- His form is certainly a concern, but knowing CSK, they might likely stick with him
