9.16pm What a see-saw innings this has been and we witnessed comebacks from both teams in it. Mumbai initially had no business to get even past 150 when they were 52 for 4 in the eighth over and Chahal had taken his 200th IPL wicket. But Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera got together to script a stunning partnership; Tilak batted patiently to build a bae while Wadhera went after the loose balls to keep attacking before they both went out all guns blazing after the fifty stand. Ashwin went wicketless but was economical, Chahal and Avesh were expensive and the star from Royals was Sandeep. He got those early wickets of Kishan and SKY before returning for the last over to put the brakes on MI with three more and finish on 5 for 18. A fifth-wicket partnership of 99 off 52 but then just nine in the last two overs. Can Royals chase it down at home? Find out with Sudarshanan...
Nehal Wadhera: It was a really good opportunity that I was waiting for and it finally came. I will be elated if the team wins. We lost early wickets so my role was to wait for the loose balls and that's exactly what I did. Tilak and I have done this in the previous season as well so we had the confidence for it. We're happy with the score. In practice sessions I go early because I wasn't getting matches, so I'd go early with Surya bhai and play in match simulations. That gave me confidence because I was ready for matches. It was an amazing partnership, with fun and banter in between. The way Tilak batted was commendable.
Mani: "Hardik's form is troubling- he is not able to crack batting or bowling. India has to look beyond him for T20 WC"
"Middle overs made me feel like there aren't any demons in the pitch. But the powerplay and death were different. Is it an above par score?" Don't think so, Subodh
