5.30pm So Kohli, Faf and co. have a steep challenge ahead of them. KKR have plenty of spinners, and we saw Karn Sharma get purchase. And they know slower balls will work here. Can RCB overcome all of that and complete their highest run chase in the IPL? Find out soon with Sudarshanan!
5.28pm Shreyas Iyer's fifty and cameos from Phil Salt, Ramandeep Singh and Andre Russell have helped KKR get to 222. RCB bowled well, executed most of their plans, but leaked a few too many at the death. Ferguson was hit for 28 off his first over as Phil Salt took him on in the powerplay, but he came back well. Green had his best bowling performance for RCB and also took a blinder. Dayal was expensive, but got two key wickets in the powerplay. So it was a case of just not quite enough for RCB today with the ball. But they will back their batters to try and make a game out of this.
Ramandeep Singh: "I just want to whack the ball and luckily today was my day. [On the surface] Slow bumpers were not easy to hit so I guess that's what we are going to go. 222 is a really good total I think and unless it's a yorker, pace-on is really easy to hit on this wicket. [On his role as a finisher] I think all credit to Abhishek Nayar sir. He prepares us for how we are supposed to play the game."
