Here's Narine himself: (If someone had told him at the start of the IPL that he'd be in the running for orange cap) I'd have taken it as a joke because I hadn't opened in a long time. With GG (Gambhir) coming back, he gave me the confidence and assurance that I'll open. I want to give the team a good start in as many of the 14 innings. job is just to give the team a good start and then keep going. We have an understanding that the pitch won't be easy to bowl on, we'll try to get early wickets in the powerplay and try to restrict them.
9.22pm Eight minutes short of two hours and we have the end of the KKR innings. 223, which doesn't seem like a massive total these days. The wrecker-in-chief was Sunil Narine, who struck his maiden T20 century. He didn't start so convincingly, he had plenty of edges flying here and there, mostly in the gaps, he took on the short balls bravely, he tore into bowlers of the stature of Ashwin (34 off 17) and Chahal (33 off 11), and made sure the team got a dominating total here. It feels like Royals will need a big knock today instead of several useful innings to chase this down. Shashank will jump in soon, say hi to him.
Kumar: "This IPL is not exiting at all. It has become six hitting contest. Bowlers are helpless. Yawn"
Jasdev: "This is the difference between RR and RCB bowling line-up - despite being pelted, they keep getting back by picking wickets."
Tejas: "Someone mentioned at beginning of innings that KKR needs to score above 220 to win this game -- Here they got 223, good for win now?"
