Some stat nuggets from Sampath: 1) Mumbai Indians' 234/5 is the highest team total in T20s without an individual fifty. Previous highest was 226/5 by Somerset against Kent.
2) Third highest for MI in the IPL and their highest at the Wankhede
Here's Tim David: Feeling pretty good. I got upstaged at the back end. Things have been going our way, we had the momentum and Shepherd just put the hammer down in the last over. [Surface] The off pace balls didn't feel like coming on. [Six off the waist high no-ball] I thought I was about to die that ball. Glad it came off my bat. [Running three] Definitely the first three in Wankhede. I saw Hardik next to me and ran.
nabeel: "Where have you been Shepherd???? We have witnessed something similar to what Rinku Singh did."
NM: "I've said it before - Shepherd is fast becoming one of the best finishers with both bat and ball."
Lemon: "Nortje gives 215 runs in 4 matches, DC should think twice about him. "
Deivarayan Muthu had chatted to Romario Shepherd before the IPL. Here's what he had to say. Romario Shepherd on six-hitting and playing in the IPL: 'It's my strength vs your strength when I'm at the crease'
5.15pm Mumbai Indians have ransacked 42 runs off the last eight balls and that has helped them wallop to 234 for 5. Rohit started off like a train as Mumbai scored 75 in the powerplay. DC pulled things back in the middle, and it seemed Mumbai might not get past 200 after a point. But those last eight balls have changed the course of the game. Shashank will be with you when the chase gets underway in a bit.
