5:20pm Phew, that was quite some innings. CSK defied what many felt would be a slow surface and have managed to get up to 223. Gaikwad and Conway dominated the powerplay again. The former was a little slower off the blocks but capitalised in the middle overs. Conway continued on his merry way, even after Gaikwad departed and was helped by Dube and Jadeja producing impactful cameos. Dhoni did not quite finish off as he has done this season but he would be pleased by what his team has put up.

As for Delhi, well, their bowling lacked accuracy throughout. They either bowled too short or too full and did not make the most of the conditions. They also offered plenty of width - something the CSK batters thrived on. That said, this strip does not look as slow as many predicted it would be, and DC have nothing to lose. It will be a stiff run-chase but crazier things have happened in the IPL. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Michael Hussey: If you had asked me, if I would have taken 223 before the game, I would have bit your hand off. Good target but obviously, job is only half done. (On the score and the pitch) Talking to a few people, they said this was one of the better pitches here in this tournament. Looked like it started to slow down towards the end. I am sure the batters would have passed on that information to the bowlers. They are both quality players. (On Conway and Gaikwad) They have a special bond. Ruturaj had that with Faf a few years ago and he has developed that relation with Devon as well. They get on really well. (On what factors influence Dhoni's batting position) As late as possible. His knee is not a 100%, so he wants to come in the last few overs. He is still hitting the ball really well.
