Massive comeback from Mumbai. Mumbai looked good for 190 at one point, but they have dragged them back. First with Kohli's wicket, then de Villiers (to Pollard), and then Bumrah squeezing the life out of RCB's innings with two death overs for five runs and two wickets. Padikkal showed good intent through the innings as did RCB but therein was the challenge: if they lose wickets showing their intent, they can end up exposing a weak lower middle order. That happened today. That need not happen every time. Will RCB be brave enough to keep doing this in the coming games?

Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, 2 runs, shuffles across to go behind square on the leg side, but gets a front edge towards deep midwicket for two
19.5
4
Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, FOUR, slower full ball, right in the slot, and mid-off is up. Mann goes deep into the crease to loft this over mid-off

Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, FOUR, he likes it when the pace drops off from the Bumrah levels. Bould bowls full and straight, and he whips this square of deep midwicket

Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, no run, slower offcutter, wide outside off, but can't be a wide as he has moved across. Mann wants the wide but is sent back. de Kock hits the stumps but he is back in. Lucky it hasn't ricocheted

Stays over the wicket

1
Boult to Washington Sundar, 1 run, on-pace length ball with mid-off up. Recipe for disaster. Sundar, though, hits this straight to the man placed wide than an usual mid-off

2
Boult to Washington Sundar, 2 runs, misses the yorker a little, and mid-off is up. But Sundar can't drive this wide enough of that man. They do run the second off the fumble, though

Boult to finish off

1
Bumrah to Washington Sundar, 1 run, searing yorker. Swinging in late, headed for the base of leg stump, but Sundar's bat somehow comes down in time

Round the wicket. Third man up. Fine leg back

praveen gadugin: "Why is Bumrah so good!!!! It is so unfair!! "

1
Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, 1 run, quick and straight to Mann. He is late into the slog again. Just mis-hits this to mid-off for one
18.4
1
Bumrah to Washington Sundar, 1 run, slower ball, on a length, pushed wide of cover for one

Abhinandan : "This is the answer for RCB's low scoring rate in the middle overs. With this thin lower order it was always wise to protect wicket in middle overs and go big in last 3/4 overs. The moment they changed the plan the weakness is exposed."

18.3
1
Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, 1 run, follows him with a length ball, slogged to deep square for one
18.3
1w
Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, 1 wide, that seems to be about the only way RCB can score off Bumrah. A bouncer well down the leg side. Called wide
18.2

Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, no run, looks to slog at a length ball but again Bumrah is too quick for him. All he manages is a limp hit to short midwicket. Falls just short
18.1

Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, no run, short of a length, quick, on top of the stumps. Pushed back to him

Bumrah's last over coming up

Boult to Washington Sundar, FOUR, that wide has cost them more than just that extra. Boult is looking to tuck these batsmen up, but ends up sliding down leg again. And Sundar glances this fine of long leg for four

1w
Boult to Washington Sundar, 1 wide, bouncer, it is a good ball, but only just down leg. I wouldn't have called it a wide, but the umpire does

Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, 1 run, short, into the body, hurries him into a pull. Just the single to deep square leg

Round the wicket

Boult to Washington Sundar, 1 run, short of a length, into the body, swivel-pull to long leg for one

Fifteen balls to go. Mumbai will aim to keep them down to 21

1
Boult to Gurkeerat Singh, 1 run, short of a length, angling in, runs this down to third man for one

Washington Sundar is the new man in, but Mann is on strike. Boult goes round the wicket

17.2
W
Boult to Morris, OUT, short and quick, chest-high, Morris is off his toes to try to cut this down, but it gets big on him, and the top edge flies to third man. This wicket might be worth 10 runs in the end

CH Morris c Pattinson b Boult 4 (2b 1x4 0x6) SR: 200

4
Boult to Morris, FOUR, Morris continues with his cameo-hitting form. There has hardly been any runs scored in the last two overs, and three wickets have fallen, but he makes room and casually thumps this length ball in front of deep cover for four

Boult comes back

Bumrah to Gurkeerat Singh, no run, double-wicket maiden. Slower ball, on a length outside off, and he ends up pushing inside its line

Mann comes in. They didn't cross over

16.5
W
Bumrah to Padikkal, OUT, are we in for a double-wicket maiden? Padikkal has been placing these perfectly all night but has found the man at long leg now. Short of a length, into the body, uses his wrists to punch this in the air, but straight to Boult

D Padikkal c Boult b Bumrah 74 (45b 12x4 1x6) SR: 164.44

Bumrah to Padikkal, no run, just short of the diving man at point. This is short of a length, he looks to which this to leg, but gets an inside edge onto the thigh pad. Ishan Kishan puts in a full-length dive at point, but this still reaches him only on a half-volley

Chris Morris batting ahead of Gurkeerat Mann

Niroop: "RCB got 80 of the middle overs, a significant improvement. But without ABD and Kohli its a challenge to match their death over scoring rate"
