Phew! That was quite a finish, headlined by de Villiers. He ends with 82 not out, having lead the way during a game-changing 121-run stand with Stoinis. A whopping 64 runs came off the last three overs! At one stage, it looked like Royal Challengers would do well to reach 160. They've ended up with much more than that. But this game is only halfway done, and they'll have Chris Gayle to deal with as they look to defend this total and keep their campaign alive.

"It was hard work," says de Villiers. "I knuckled down and tried to go at a run a ball after we lost early wickets. It was tough. At the Chinnaswamy if you get a partnership going, you can score big at the end. I felt it was a tough wicket throughout. But if you spend some time at the crease, things get easier.I told him stuff like keep your eye on the ball, stay nice and still. We focused on the basics and stayed in the moment. The bowlers kept me on my toes tonight."

But is it a winning score?

"I think so, if we bowl well, and take wickets, which is obviously vital in this form of the game," adds de Villiers. "I still believe, honestly, that 160 was par, but there's guys like Gayle and Miller in their line-up, you never know. Might be a really good one for us if we get things right tonight."

DINESH SINGH: "Why is this genie(us) not playing world cup? Why AB why? "

Darshan Mandali: "I left office when 17th over was in progress and during whole time I was thinking it's good if they reach 170.. I reached home and I am overwhelmed."

Lekhnath Sapkot: "Only Gaylestorm can save KXIP from disaster. "

Siva : "Darshan Mandali... can you tell me which city you live in wherein you can leave office at the end of 17th over and reach home by the 20th?"

Eric: "46 off 8 overs of spin, i see chahal, moeen and sundar and how they go deciding this match"

K Shankar: "Don't know what stuff cricket bats are made of ??? Earlier days a crossbat shot wouldn't go beyond 30 yards BUT end up giving a shock-jolt in the hand. Now anything goes for a six. Think it's time we use those unbalanced balls that nobody can predict how it moves on the bounce. Pity the bats have improvised a lot but not the balls"

Achal: "I had a train to catch at 10pm only to realize that it id late by 3 hours! Thanks to Indian railways I could witness the genius AB on fire!"

Mohammed Shami to de Villiers, 1 leg bye, another massive swipe, but this time the ball beats the bat and pings off his thigh into the off side

Amjad N Shaikh asking the important questions: "If the umpire reflexes are not strong and he is forceds to choose his face and things below - what are his options? By the way do they wear protective guards?"

6
Mohammed Shami to de Villiers, SIX, three in a row! This has flown clean out of the park, but it was nothing more than a wild fend from AB as Shami let slip with a high full toss. AB was actually turning his head away to take evasive action as the ball got to him, but somehow the ball finds the middle of the bat and exits the stadium. AB reckons that might have been above waist height, but the umpire disagrees
