Archer: Very hard, it's 42 degrees. I think we have to make the most of the Powerplay. It won't be easy but back the boys to get over the line. Good wicket to bat on, in the first ten, and the ball started gripping. That's what you train for [to identify the right lengths]. Everything won't go your way like the inside edge.

9:46pm 176 looks small after the start, but in the broader picture, with how much they got the offcutters to sit in this pitch and how much spin CSK have in their ranks, it is very challenging. Some of Dhoni's shots, my colleague Sid Monga observed, would have flown faster and further on a better pitch. For Royals, a top performance from Ish Sodhi, who showed once again that he grasped the pace of the pitch early. The seamers came back nicely in the end too, but this is a steep chase. It's not a hefty middle order. We'll see how they go. Crowd-favourite Deiva Muthu at the other end. See you!

Stokes to Dhoni, 1 run, full ball on leg stump, swipes off the inside half of the bat and can only get it as far as fine leg, to his left

Stokes to Bravo, 1 run, drags it to short fine. A slower ball, short of a length. Bravo halfway through a pull before this ball lands

My colleagues spotted Dhoni running back towards the dugout after the last ball of the 19th over. He had to be told there's another over remaining.

Stokes to Billings, OUT, direct hit from Buttler. Dhoni forgets to cross over. A stunning yorker from Stokes outside off and Billings can't get bat on it. Runs down the pitch, looks back, finds the stumps being tonked. Well outside the crease

Stokes to Billings, 2 runs, dropped at deep square! Debutant Chopra runs in and can't hold on. Slower ball and he reaches out to drag this with a slog. Simple catch after making his ground but he doesn't complete it

Stokes to Billings, FOUR, drilled over mid-off! Stokes making life easy for Billings today it seems. Length ball on off stump, backs away and slams this flat

Stokes to Billings, FOUR, length ball on middle stump and he finally gets good bat on one. Ugly swat, effective sway. Deep square can't get it
