Glenn Maxwell is player of the match in his 100th BBL game. Stars are on the march and destined for finals. They look hard to beat with Maxwell at the helm. Thanks for your company tonight.
Tom Rogers: "Getting to watch Maxy at the other end, how good was that? Bloody hell. I was so excited. I was blocking them so I was hoping he would do something and he hit three of Zampa and didn't even look at them. That's how good he is. He knows they've gone as soon as he hits them. It was awesome to watch at the other end. Box office."
10.34pm Stars win by eight wickets in a canter. Four in a row for the Stars. That was a clinic. Maxwell was absolutely superb in the field with his captaincy, with his bowling, with his catching and with his batting. Dan Lawrence bowled well as well. Tom Rogers steered the chase with an excellent 42 not out. Stars were way too good. The Renegades had a horror night after losing two senior players in Mujeeb and Clarke before the game, most likely for the tournament. Stars climb to third on the table. Renegades drop to last on the table.
Mark: "Another stunning performance from Jono Merlo. Is he the Stars secret sauce? Is this his 3rd? match with no batting or bowling? " He got 1 not out from 1 against the Sixers.
SW: "Maxwell in the past 18 months has gone from occasional match winner (AND essential) to consistent world beater. What a player!!"
Vishal: "Woah settles himself in 10 balls and takes Surge to end the game!"

The Afghanistan spinner, who played a starring role in Renegades' only win so far this BBL season, was sanctioned by the ACB over contract issues last month
