10.02 pm Melbourne is going to be partying long into the night. The MCG is going bonkers. LED lights at the top ring of the stadium spinning round in circles. Pyrotechnic flames shooting off on the boundary. One of the greatest nights in Stars history. If you think this is hyperbole, then you must not appreciate the greatness and exceptionalism of Victoria baby. A nine-wicket mauling of the Strikers sealed with 5.3 overs to spare.
Player of the Match is Liam Hatcher for his 2 for 18 in the field getting Matt Short and Chris Lynn out: "It was nice to get those two big ones. We were keen to get them early. There was a little bit of moisture underneath so we bowled a few cross seams and it got a little bit of nibble. You go from Shield cricket bowling 20 overs a day to this where it's only four overs so you can let the hand brake off a bit. We were still really positive coming into tonight. If we won our last five games, that would get us to 7-7 and 14 points would be enough to get us into the playoffs. So one down, four to go."
That's all for tonight's live BBL coverage. Come back tomorrow for some more live BBL action. Until then, take care!
Brendan: "Rogers probably wouldn't have had a look in if Maxwell wasn't injured, but he's been good value."
