10:15pm Right. That will be that from us. It might take a lot longer for this game to sink in but anyway, this was another illustration of how anything and everything is possible in this sport and especially, this format. The action, though, does not stop in the BBL. The Melbourne Stars will take on the Sydney Sixers tomorrow in what promises to be another humdinger. Until then, this is me (Shashwat) signing off on behalf of M Venkat Raghav. Goodbye, and take care!
10:05pm Phew, I am, quite frankly, lost for words. The Strikers seemed down and out at the half-way mark, especially after they allowed the Hurricanes to post their highest-ever T20 score. But never say never in cricket, and that is exactly what the Strikers did. Short starred with the bat, scoring a sumptuous century and was supported by Lynn, who popped up with a 29-ball 64 too. Hose also played his part with a 22-ball 38, although there is no denying that Short was the star of the show.
As for the Hurricanes, they will be ruing the number of extras they conceded. They bowled as many as 13 wides and in a game of fine margins, that came back to haunt them. Their bowlers did not execute their plans well enough either, almost always allowing the Strikers an opportunity to break the shackles. The best they can perhaps do is look at this as a bad day at the office, although it will be tough to recover from such a defeat.
4 off 4 now. Can Short finish it off with one blow? He only requires 4 runs for a hundred
8 off 5
Free hit coming up, Short on strike
12 required off the final over. Surely the Strikers will back themselves to hunt this down? Faheem to bowl the final over
Sai: "20 extras and 13 wides that means 2 extra overs with runs wow" -- This could come back to haunt the Hurricanes
16 needed off 8 now
