Scorer: @Thilak_Rama | Commentator: @bose_abhimanyu

8.52pm Unfortunately, that will be all the action from Sydney today. Heat did well to get to 147, with Michael Neser and Colin Munro playing absolute blinders. Steve O'Keefe and Ben Dwarshius bowled beautifully for Sixers, but they won't get a chance to chase it. The two teams will share points, with Sixers moving up to second for now and Heat moving out of the bottom spot, overtaking Melbourne Stars. However, there is more cricket in store from the BBL. You can follow the action as Scorchers take on Thunder in the second game of the day. This is Abhimanyu Bose, signing off on behalf of Venkat Raghav and Thilak Rama.

Yoel: "Tough for Nesser, after such a great batting display...."

8.46pm The match has been abandoned due to bad weather.

Anish: "Do we need 10 overs in second innings to get a result or 5 overs are enough as normal T20?" I think five overs should be enough

8.34pm UPDATE: It's raining again and that has delayed the start of the second innings.

Ash Gardner has her concerns about the venue as well.

"I do remember a domestic game when Queensland chased nearly 400 to win. That's North Sydney for you." That sounds ominous for Heat, Jack.

"I predict the Sixers will win with 10 balls to spare," predicts Dan, rather boldly.

"My mate Henry Berejiklian lives near the ground and desperately wants to be published. He says that the rains are coming in thick and fast soon, plus he'd love to see more Kiwi players in the BBL to ease his homesickness." I hope, Trent, that he is wrong about the rain. And I hope he gets his wish for more NZ players in the BBL! I certainly won't mind that.

Afeef: "What a BBL Neser is having. From a hat-trick to a highly alert and skillful catch to his highest T20 score today." He really has been in the thick of things hasn't he? Heat were not in a great position when he came in and he has really given them a chance to win this here with that stunning knock.

"Even though chase favors while raining, this is huge total. One or two wickets up front will change the game on Heats side," says Manoj.

8.25pm Welcome back! So, how are we feeling about this chase, then?

8.20pm Well, that was an enthralling innings. Colin Munro gave Heat a rollicking start with his blitzkrieg knock, and after he fell for 38 off 14, Sam Billings continued the momentum, smashing 16 off nine. But a lull followed after Billings got out, with Steve O'Keefe running through the Heat lineup with three wickets for just 26 runs from his three overs. Dwarshius, Jordan and Kerr also picked up a wicket each. McSweeney looked to hold the innings together but then Michael Neser came in and just bludgeoned the ball around to ensure they finished with a flourish. Neser finished unbeaten on 45, off just 18 deliveries, while McSweeney stayed not out on 28 off 20. Heat have definitely done enough to ensure they have given their bowlers enough to defend. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Kerr to Neser, SIX, Smoked over midwicket! Kerr missed the yorker and it's a half-volley on leg and Neser swings it away hard to bring up his highest T20 score and finish strong for Heat.
12.5
1
Kerr to McSweeney, 1 run, Full on off and McSweeney chips this towards deep midwicket and they only get a single
12.4
1
Kerr to Neser, 1 run, Another yorker, on middle and off, and he is able to dig it out to short third and they take a quick single
12.3
2
Kerr to Neser, 2 runs, Another yorker and this time on leg and he is able to clip it square. They run two and Neser just makes ground and is lucky that the throw was a poor one from square leg. Philippe ran to the wicket and had to turn back to fetch it. he threw it on the stumps at the striker's end but the batter was in by then
12.2
4
Kerr to Neser, FOUR, That was a yorker, but it was going down leg and Neser can easily tickle it away very fine to the boundary rope
