A superb win for Strikers to start the season. They head to Sydney on Friday to face Sydney Thunder. Sixers have to regroup as they head to Perth to face Scorchers on Saturday. On behalf of Thilak Rama and myself. It's good night from Adelaide Oval.
Matt Short is Player of the Match for his 84 off 53 and two good overs with the ball.
Peter Siddle: "It was a lovely start for us. Shorty and Lynny started it off for us and we continued on from there. [Thornton] has been in fine form. That's what you want from your big quick. We defend well with the attack we've got which has been strengthened this year. All in all it was a great performance."
9.54pm Dominant win by the Strikers. They win by 51 runs and completely outclass Sixers. It started with a brilliant batting display from Matt Short, Chris Lynn and Adam Hose to set up the total of 184. Henry Thornton made the early breakthroughs jagging two in an over in the powerplay and finishing with four. Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan put on a clinic in the Surge to end Sixers hopes in 12 balls.
