And that ends the Adelaide Strikers' six-match losing streak. Will this be the trigger that turns their season around? The points table makes for very interesting viewing. See you tomorrow for the moveable feast that is the Big Bash League!

Matt Short is the Player of the Match despite Siddle's five for. Actually think he deserves it too. "Good to come off with the win," he says. "The go-to shots are coming off at the moment. I want to use my height, my levers, well. This sort of target can be tricky at times but we got a few early and that kept the pressure low. Credit to Peter for another five-for, unbelievable in T20 cricket. Few early wickets for us helped and we closed out well. Huge win. The boys were getting a little bit flat after a few close losses. Good to beat a good team and get the season underway again."

9.41pm The Strikers, who were last before the game, have claimed four points and also given their NRR a big boost too. Matt Short started the game with the ball and ended the game with the bat. In between, an all-round contribution from the Strikers. Captain Peter Siddle showed his experience with the wet ball, taking a five-wicket haul. Rashid Khan took 2 for 26 too. Harry Conway and Wes Agar were economical too. A short note on Hunt and Renshaw too, both playing according to the game's situation with Short batting so well.

Owen to Short, FOUR, length ball angling into him and pulled off the back foot through deep backward square leg! Short finishes on 82 and the Strikers win by 29 balls to spare!

Short to Weatherald, no run, two in two? Not given. Full on off. Googly turns in sharply. Weatherald is slow to get forward and defend. Hits the pad. But not given out

Finally, a smile on D'Arcy Short. Seen too little of it all season

Short to Wells, OUT, midwicket grabs it! Half-tracker on leg. Googly turns across. Wells gets low, and looks to pierce the gap with a flat-batted shot through the leg side, but Owen dives and takes a tough one

Short to Wells, FOUR, full toss, about chest high since Wells has gone low to try and premeditate a sweep. Ends up getting some bat on it, but top-edged. Nonetheless, no man's land at fine leg for a boundary

Short to Short, 1 run, good length, on middle. Rocks back and thumps the googly with a pull to deep midwicket

Short to Short, no run, bit of a grubber. Googly lands on a length on middle. He tries to muscle a shot off the back foot to the leg side but the ball stays low, turns past the stumps, to the keeper
