10.20 pm Stars were always facing an uphill battle with half their squad out due to Covid. They battled bravely but ultimately the Renegades prevail to pick up their second win of this BBL campaign.
Renegades opener Aaron Finch: "It was nice. I felt as though my movements were good early. I though Qais Ahmad would be the main danger. [On Shaun Marsh] he's someone who bring calmness to the team so it's great to see him playing again. I just feel as though sometimes you need a little bit of a break [from captaincy]. I'm 35 now so there comes a time where you need to put a little bit of time to put into your own game. Nic Maddinson is someone who thinks a lot about the game and it was a great opportunity for him to learn. Coming over from the Stars, it was a great opportunity for him to lead. I think if you get on a run in T20 cricket, we've got a big block of games. If you get on a run with a lot of back to back games, you can get some momentum. We've got a really young group so getting experience into these guys is important. Whatever we have to do to keep the tournament going, I think cricket is the winner. The more that we can play and put on a really good product, the better for everyone."
That's it from our coverage tonight. On behalf of the scoring team, I'm Peter Della Penna. Come back tomorrow for more BBL action. Take care!
Jamie: "Did I miss why Will Sutherland is carded at about 9 but didn't bowl? Seems a waste of a spot?" He was swapped out as the X-Factor sub with Seymour coming in.
