10.36pm: That brings us to the end of this game's coverage. Scorchers were pretty much in control throughout and have gone to the top of the BBL 2021 table now. They're certainly looking like the team to beat. They have a gun bowling attack and batters who have stepped up as needed. Hurricanes have lots to ponder. On that thought, this is Saurabh Somani signing off, on behalf of Thilak too.
Kurtis Patterson is the Player of the Match: It's a bit of a weird one with Mitch and Josh Inglis coming back, I thought I would only get the first two games, but I'm really stoked they stuck with me. (On his innings) I tried to hit sixes off the short side of the boundary. Just got a little bit sore, took the safe option (not fielding in the second innings).
10.30pm: A comprehensive win for the Scorchers, by 42 runs. Kurtis Patterson controlled their batting with a superb 78 off 48, whose value was shown when the Hurricanes found the going so tough in their chase. Ashton Agar's cameo 30* off 11 was very valuable too. The Scorchers bowlers then turned up the heat on the Hurricanes. They kept things tight, they kept their lines probing, and they kept the batters guessing with their variety. The Scorchers have outclassed the Hurricanes.
Ashton Turner will bowl the last over.
