9.22pm Heat get off the bottom of the table, and that position is now taken by Renegades, who had finished there last season, and their next game is against the so-far unbeaten Perth Scorchers. That's all we have for tonight, from me, Vishal Dikshit, and PDP. It's Hurricanes vs Scorchers tomorrow, do join us for that and all the other Ashes content for the Adelaide day-night Test. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Ciao!
James Bazley is the Player of the Match: Nice to get our first win. We started nicely, kept it simple under nice conditions. Quite early (his slower balls) and that was our planning as well, that works, bowl fast and get those slower balls. Understanding my game, sticking to my process, working hard and being resilient works for me.
9.14pm Brisbane Heat get off the mark with their first win and they've done it convincingly with over three overs to spare. There was a bit of a stutter along the way in the chase but some lusty blows from Heazlett and Bazley, and seeing off Zahir Khan in the end made it easy. Renegades were surely 20 or more runs short after only Harvey got thee runs for them. Their bowling stepped up a fair bit, but 140 wasn't going to be enough here. Sam Heazlett nicely leading the chase with his unbeaten 44.
Just 13 to go from 24. Topley comes back
13 from the over, this match is pretty much done now
