10.35pm The Stars moved up to third on the BBL table. The Renegades lose their 9th of the season and their finals hopes appear long gone.
The two teams meet again on Wednesday at Marvel Stadium. Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes meet tomorrow night at Manuka Oval in Canberra. Hope you can join us then.
The Stars win two in a row at the MCG. This was a nervy win in the end. It was a little closer than they would have liked but Maddinson and Cartwright closed it out. The Renegades will rue their batting in the second half of their innings.
Liam Hatcher is Player of the Match for his 3 for 29: "I just tried to go into the wicket and back myself with the long square boundaries. It's interesting in the Power Surge. I'm really loving my time with the Stars."
Kapil Baldawa: "Again shows how Renegades poor finish with the bat is hurting them time and again. 15 more and they are more than in the game but they just don't pay with a plan. Virtually no reliable batting after No.5. Finch should have bowled Wasim the 19th as he is more experienced and last over stranger things have happened"
Imad Wasim to finish. Stars need just 4. Around the wicket
