What explains AB de Villiers, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine not playing the Big Bash and getting a Bangladesh Premier League gig? Our Talking T20 crew ponder and come up with some answers.
9:38pm Too simple for Hobart Hurricanes who now have 16 points at the top! Adelaide never got into this - not when they started slow, not in the middle, not with Ingram's 22-run over and not even close when they came out to defend. A comprehensive loss for them by 10 wickets. Mathew Wade was in scintillating touch throughout the innings, and got his second score in the 80s this season. Short caught up later on and more than three overs were left as they opening pair finished this unseparated. Wade is the Man of the Match. Thanks for joining us and we'll see you soon!
Huzefa: "Short has spoiled the party here. Wade can't put his argument forward to the selectors by getting a hundred now."
Kapil: "BBL was trying to replicate the sucess of IPL right from the inception but what kept it unique was its big hitting and big chases and 2-3 low scoring thrillers every season but the number of 1 sided games this season is completely due to lack of quality among local players and that's clearly visible from lack of sucess of AUS in limted overs cricket in general. Need to raise batting standards at every level, Aussies"
Tom: "bit of all of the above - couple years ago it was gayle, malinga etc. now it's james vince and jofra archer - no aura around any of them and T20 has lost any kind of novelty now. people play it too well so it's just less variable"
Milhan: ""Short to Short" funny..."
