Adelaide Strikers opened their innings with a bang, scoring 50 runs in the powerplay. Both opening batters began their innings hitting the ball everywhere. Carey smashed 22 runs in seven balls. Matt Short looked excellent at the crease until he was stumped by Connolly's crafty bowling and Finn Allen's great glove performance. The Strikers were looking to score more than 200 runs, but they got off track halfway through. Even so, Liam Scott's top T20 score of 67 runs helped them reach 161 runs.
