9:10 pm What an anti-trend runfest! In keeping with this season's BBL norm, the Brisbane Heat chose to bowl first after winning the toss. However, the Strikers' opening batsmen demonstrated that the pitch was a complete belter for the hitters by swinging it away in the opening over of the innings. The Adelaide Strikers got the innings off to a great start! They were able to score 100 runs on the eighth over and 62 runs during the powerplay. Lynn was bowled by Kuhnemann, who smashed a 107 kph ball on the stumps. Matthew Short led the squad from the front, striking his second BBL century and finishing on 109 runs from 54 balls. Although they eventually managed to put together the second-highest BBL total, they were on course to surpass the Melbourne Stars' 273 total, which was the highest in BBL history. D'Arcy Short and Alex Ross made brief cameos later in the last overs to contribute crucial runs and carry on the run-fest. Each of the five bowlers, who all conceded more than 10 runs per over, was extremely expensive. However, the spinners took five wickets between them; Kuhnemann took three and Swepson took two. After a little break, we will return for the run pursuit. Stay put!
