Let's hope that sinks in during the break. Top-two spot at stake, let's hope we have a thrilling chase. Back soon.

Josh: "Does anyone else have the body reflex, where when someone asks you whose gonna win the BBL, your mouth splurts "PERTH" before you can react "

Kapil Baldawa: "Really poor captaincy to bowl out Jack Edwards even though Murhpy had 2 overs left and could have done well against a left handed Connolly" Yeah, was wondering about that. Don't know if he would've changed much in Perth's hot streak but prolly was worth a try.

6:24pm Scorchers flexing their rigs tonight. 200 seemed nowhere in sight at 66 for 2 after ten. Eskinazi was retired hurt after getting hit on the hand and Aaron Hardie wasn't able to get going. But Evans came in like thunder, he smoked it to all parts. The highlight being the 28-run Surge over against Hayden Kerr. He kept going, got Connolly for company and the defending champions piled on 131 in the back half.

Laurie Evans: Every run counts, tough coming in with limited balls. Hobbo ended well. I don't want to leave, I've got a job which I'm lucky to do and lucky have another job. Gotta leave for that on Wednesday. Finals is what you play for, tough to leave. Will try to follow the game from Abu Dhabi, probably with Zak (Crawley) as we will be in the same hotel.

Edwards to Hobson, SIX, Smacked... well over the cow-corner boundary! Scorchers finish with three four under 200. Don't think Edwards bowled particularly badly but goes for 19 runs.

1
Edwards to Connolly, 1 run, It drops down as Connolly drills a near-yorker at the base of his feet, to mid-off for a single. Great control from Edwards

Crowd building up with applause

1
Edwards to Hobson, 1 run, Can't get all of it. Very full ball at the batter standing outside leg, he cleared the front foot and smeared it to wide long-on

Edwards to Connolly, 1 leg bye, Tries to clatter the low full ball across the line, misses and it deflects away off the pad for a single

Sowmya : "Seems like the 6ers have to play the eliminator"

Edwards to Connolly, FOUR, Will that clear the ring? The cheer among the crowd provides the answer. Was a low fully that Connolly tried to slug across the line, got either a leading edge or it went off the bottom of the bat, but all it needed to do was clear mid-off

6
Edwards to Connolly, SIX, That's why, he can help slower bouncers over fine leg on the boundary. Was at the body, Connolly swivelled and lifted it over the shorter boundary for a 69-metre six.

Connolly has strike for the last over, which is a positive for the hosts.

Dwarshuis, the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 23, has probably taken 200 just out of Sixers' reach

Dwarshuis to Hobson, 1 leg bye, Length on the pads, nudged to the leg side

Rakin: "Is the pitch too good for batters? or bowlers to blame?" Think Evans got one too many full balls but can't nitpick too much. Batting excellence was the highlight.

Dwarshuis to Evans, OUT, Oh yeah, Evans can actually get out. Needed a reminder cos it didn't seem a possibility till now. Was a slower one into the pitch, Evans tried dragging it across with a pull but top edged it to deep midwicket. He gets a big cheer as he walks back with a raised bat.

Abbott to Connolly, SIX, Pulls the shortish ball over fine leg. Was a short ball that rose to just rib-height, Evans lifted it with a swivel for a 75-metre six

Edwards to Connolly, FOUR, Henriques was backtracking at mid-off, misjudges and gets wrong footed, ends up not jumping. Ball went over him for four. Was a fullish ball that was off-driven in the air, not off the middle again. But Connolly is still moving along.
