7:50pm The Heat have stuttered and stumbled their way to 132, which, at this point, seems a bit under-par. Apart from Munro, none of the other batters got going, and post the Heat captain's dismissal in the 15th over, it was a proper struggle. Walter, who usually provides the finishing kick at the death, scratched his way to 22 off 21 and that sort of sums it up.

Much of that was down to the Hurricanes' bowling effort. They figured out early the lines and lengths that needed to be bowled and stuck by it throughout. Meredith was exceptional, despite not taking a wicket. Jordan bagged three, and Ellis snapped up two, and that broke the back of the Heat's innings.

There is a bit of juice in the surface, and that might keep the hosts' pacers interested. However, at the half-way point, there is no doubt who will be the happier side. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Jordan to Walter, OUT, a wicket to finish the innings! In the slot on middle and off, but Walter cannot get anything behind it. Been that sort of a day really for the Heat. Cloths it badly and hits it straight to David, who snaps up a smart, low catch to his right!

Jordan to Neser, OUT, Neser bites the dust! Third catch for Wright tonight! Dug into the track outside off. Neser tries to smash it over cow corner but he is hitting to the longer side of the ground. Does not get it right out of the middle either and Wright picks up a simple catch at deep mid wicket!

Ellis to Billings, OUT, Ellis has another! Full and hung a mile outside off. Billings throws the kitchen sink at it, trying to carve it over extra cover. The ball is too far away from him, though, and he loses control of his stroke. Spoons up off the outer half of the bat and Wright, running in from the deep cover point fence, makes no mistake, completing the catch with a dive forward!
