Reece: "10/11 of the same batting lineup that lost 2/7 and 7/5 at either end of their last innings...it's a funny game."
Simon: "Strikers would surely have the most runs against. Rasheed was obviously a big out, but they can't seem to contain teams scoring over 200. "
JT says, "Crazy hitting from Laurie Evans, the last time I saw so much green and purple together I was watching the tennis at Wimbledon !" before adding, "This shows the calliber of Rashid khan in this team, strikers are giving 200 like it's nothing"
Matthew: "Yea, I don't think Bazley managed to make amends! "
7:53pm Deus ex machina is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem in a story is suddenly or abruptly resolved by an unexpected and unlikely occurrence. Evans was that character who pulled off the what seemed unthinkable - a 200-plus total despite being unders after the first ten. He went outright ballistic from the Surge and the bowlers learnt from their trials and errors but none of it mattered cos Evans just kept pumpin em. Strikers, as might many of their fans, might look for explanations, but honestly, they might be for another time. The best one can do is revel in what just happened. Let's hope some of it sinks in during the break.
Big chat between bowler and skipper. Crowd crescendo as Bazley runs in
