8:50pm A stuttering and stumbling innings, and the Hurricanes have ended up with 155. Their innings did not get off to a great start, with Wade perishing in the first over. Jewell and Wright played well for 45 and 33, respectively, however, support was not forthcoming from elsewhere. The Hurricanes, at the half-way stage, were 80-2 and they will be gutted to have not capitalised on the second half of their innings.

As for the Stars, they kept picking wickets throughout the back half. Maxwell perhaps turned the tide definitively in a two-wicket over which included the scalps of Jewell and David. Rauf was brilliant towards the end, with Imad and Usama Mir also being tidy. 156 does not look a daunting run-chase, and having chased down a target successfully just days ago, the Stars will be backing themselves to make it two wins out of two. Join us in a bit for the second innings!

Paris to Ellis, 1 run, OUT, safe on the catch, but Ellis has been run out! Confusion and chaos everywhere! Hard length outside off. Ellis has another massive hack across the line and slices it. Deep backward point looks at short third for a brief moment, and that hesitation means he cannot get to the catch. Ellis, though, wants to get back on strike and hares for the second. Puts in the dive but is at least a yard short as the keeper gathers the throw and takes off the bails!

Paris to Ellis, no run, back of a length outside off. Ellis shuffles across, trying to force it through extra cover. Chunks it off the inside edge to the bowler instead

Paris to Ellis, FOUR, oh, wow! Short and wide this time, and Ellis cashes in. Waits in his crease, holds his stroke long enough and scythes it through backward point!

Paris to Ellis, FOUR, fortunate, very fortunate! Full and wide outside off. Ellis swings for the hills and gets it diagonally opposite to where he was intending to hit it. Over short third, and the Hurricanes get four!

Meredith is the last man in. Can the Hurricanes bat out their overs? Ellis on strike. Paris to bowl

Haris Rauf to Jordan, OUT, Rauf gets Jordan! Hard length, angling into leg stump. Jordan tries to help it fine but the extra pace and the bounce hassles him. Skews off the top edge in the end and Imad gobbles up the chance at fine leg!

Haris Rauf to Jordan, 1 wide, slower yorker that goes awry and slides down the leg side. Some more exercise for the umpire

Haris Rauf to Ellis, 1 run, missed run-out chance! Hard length on middle and leg. Ellis gives himself room and hacks it to Maxwell at mid on. He takes aim and shies at the bowler's end but misses. Ellis would have been out had it hit

Haris Rauf to Dooley, OUT, timberrr! Length delivery slanted into leg stump. Dooley, rather ambitiously, looks for the lap rather than getting Jordan back on strike. Makes a hash of it and misses it completely. The ball smashes into the top of leg stump, and Rauf now has two!

Paris to Jordan, no run, length delivery hung well outside off again. Jordan swishes and misses, and the umpire does not call this a wide. Perhaps because Jordan shuffled across but this was definitely wider than the previous one that was called

Paris to Jordan, FOUR, shot! Slower ball on a back of a length on off. This sits up to be hit, though, and Jordan dismisses it from his presence, blasting it over the bowler's head!

Haris Rauf to Dooley, 1 run, short on leg stump, and this keeps coming back into Dooley, cramping him for room. Fends it away behind square on the leg side eventually and picks up a single

W
Haris Rauf to Chaudhary, OUT, straight up, and Rauf has the last laugh! Takes pace off considerably, and Chaudhary, like Jordan earlier in the over, does not pick it. Way too early into his attempted lofted stroke over mid off. Clinks right off the bottom of the bat and Paris does the rest inside the ring. Vital wicket in the context of the game!

Haris Rauf to Chaudhary, FOUR, have a piece of that too! Bangs it in short outside off. Chaudhary has telegraphed it and steps down the track. Throws his hands at it and crashes it over extra cover!
