9.20pm: We're done for this game, but Big Bash action is not done for today. Hop over to the Heat vs Stars game that's happening at the Gabba. Meanwhile, courstey of our stats whiz Sampath: Ben McDermott becomes the seventh player to score multiple centuries in the BBL. His first 100 was scored in January 2017, also while chasing. First player with two centuries in BBL chases.

9.15pm: Incredible knock by Ben McDermott. Took on all the bowlers and took them to the cleaners. Most impressive for me was how he even took down Rashid Khan. The Hurricanes have romped to victory on the back of his 110* off just 60 balls. Strikers would have thought they had a defendable total - but the way McDermott was going, even 200 might not have been enough. Pretty much a one-man batting show by Hurricanes but what a show and what a man it was.

Agar to McDermott, 2 runs, full ball into him, whipped off his toes through midwicket and that seals victory.

Siddharth: "McDermott doing a Head, and just a few days short of New Year's Eve."

Agar to McDermott, 1 wide, too far down legside and it's a wide

Agar to McDermott, FOUR, and he's ending this in a hurry. Length ball on middle and leg, gets inside the line and whips it from waist height to the backward square leg boundary

Agar to McDermott, SIX, what a way to bring up 100. Low full toss on the pads and he has a clean swing of the bat through it to deposit it over deep square leg with nonchalance. Stunning shot to cap a stunning innings.

Only 13 needed off 12 balls for victory, and Ben McDermott is on 98.

Siddle to McDermott, FOUR, and Siddle goes back to length outside off, McDermott just stands tall and crashes it through extra cover to get another boundary. He's been imperious

Siddle to McDermott, FOUR, he's 360-degreeing it. Goes across his stumps and scoops this full ball over short fine leg. Audacity.

Garton to David, no run, direct hit nicks the stumps but the bails don't come off!. length ball outside off, steered into the offside, and the fielder lets fly an accurate throw. Unfortunately, the bails stay in place - otherwise, McDermott would have been out at the non-striker's end having backed up too far

4
Garton to David, FOUR, that's a sharp bouncer but that's an even better shot. Reared up to his helmet but he got his hands up in flash, was swaying head out of the way but still managed to smash a pull shot to the square leg boundary
16.4
1
Garton to McDermott, 1 run, moving around in the crease a bit, but the bowler keeps it on a length outside off. Punched to cover

Garton to McDermott, SIX, too short and hammered. McDermott's unstoppable. Rocked back on the back foot and pulled it powerfully, flat and hard over deep midwicket

Shah Safeer: "Ben McDermott should be slotted in the Australia squad for next world cup as his record at home tracks could prove massive bonus for Australia "
