nabeel: "@Chris well russell has the temperament to give you the shots back so neither underestimate him nor is the game over. russell comeback awaits thunder hopefully!!!!!!!!!!"

8.41pm Is 151 enough? The deck looks good, but there's also some turn on offer. The Thunder have Green and Sangha, two very economical bowlers. So the chase should be interesting.

Couch and Qais the most impressive bowlers today - they shared four wickets for 43 runs between them. The Thunder started well with a rollicking first over but then the wickets pulled their progress back. Billings struggled, but atleast he held one end up to stop the fall of wickets. Ross started slow, but picked his strike-rate up beautifully in the back end. 93 runs off the last ten overs, and even though Thunder have the momentum at the break, the Stars are aware that 152 is very chaseable over here. See you on the flipside

2
Couch to Ross, 2 runs, good length, outside leg. Pulled off the back foot to Qais at deep backward square. Qais fumbles, and that allows the duo to scrape for the second run too. Thunder finish on 151 for 5

Did Ross cross over? Last ball loading.

19.5
W
Couch to Sams, OUT, rewarded for smart bowling as this short ball angles into Sams. Cramped, attempts the pull, and hit in the air. Qais at deep backward square runs in and takes an easy one. A deserved second wicket

DR Sams c Qais Ahmad b Couch 22 (35m 18b 1x4 2x6) SR: 122.22

1
Couch to Ross, 1 run, just misses the stumps! Tries to slog a length ball towards the leg side but it hits the bat's toe and goes past leg stump to the keeper. Sams calls for the run, Ross obliges, and the keeper's throw hits nothing
19.3
0
Couch to Ross, no run, slower ball. That's very smart from Couch. Rolls his fingers over the ball to deliver a length ball. Ross, of course, tries to hit the colour off the ball, but can't get anything
19.2
6
Couch to Ross, SIX, straight as an arrow! Full, in the slot, on off stump, and Ross stays deep in his crease before drilling it over the bowler's head! Strong arms.
19.1
2
Couch to Ross, 2 runs, good length ball just outside off. Backs away and looks to pull, but its inside edged past the stumps to fine leg. Dre Russ runs around, and slides the stop the four

140 has been breached. Can the Thunder repeat another 20+ run over off the inexperienced Couch?

Russell to Sams, no run, full on leg. Looks to drill a six over deep midwicket but beaten by the pace. Ball goes under the bat and hits him near the shin. No lbw appeal since that was safely angling down leg. A decent comeback from Dre off the last two balls
18.5
1
Russell to Ross, 1 run, good length, just outside off. Drags this sloggy shot to deep midwicket for a single

Chris: "Andre 'Judas' Russell getting his well-earned punishment for switching sides!" -- Strong words! Welcome to the world of franchise cricket

18.4
4
Russell to Ross, FOUR, 22 off four balls! Full just outside off, and he smacks a shot straight down the ground. Mid off is there to cut it off, but its been hit so hard that his slide is futile!
18.3
6
Russell to Ross, SIX, it's a hat-trick of sixes! Its Russell who usually does this, but he's on the receiving end now. Short ball, not quick enough, and Ross backs away before pulling with the momentum behind square on the leg side
18.2
6
Russell to Ross, SIX, two in two! That's gone into the third tier. Full on off stump, and allows Ross to get under the ball very easily. Golf swings it right over the bowler's head. Fifty
18.1
6
Russell to Ross, SIX, picks the slower ball well! Full around leg stump, with pace off. Ross moves to the leg side and clobbers a six over deep midwicket! Kept his eyes on the ball

Two overs to go. They'll look to get 30+ with so many wickets in hand. But Russell and Couch have bowled so well today.

6
Zampa to Sams, SIX, Another length ball outside off. Sams gets onto the back foot and clubs a shot over long on for six more. This has gone 94m!
17.4
1
Zampa to Ross, 1 run, Ross backs away outside leg and so Zampa bowls it wider, forcing Ross to reach out uncomfortably. Cut to deep point
17.3
1

17.2
6
Zampa to Sams, SIX, gets enough! Length ball, angling into Sams. He appears to be in an uncomfortable position but he rocks onto the back foot and then hammers it over long on! Used the depth of the crease beautifully

very few shots to the off side.
