8.35 pm Stars have now lost three straight, two of them in improbable fashion. Maxwell had two matches in his hands, but concedes 20 runs in an over at the death with the ball in one game and today throws away his wicket in another with the Stars comfortably in front. Hurricanes get an injection of energy from the arrival of Lamichhane to take two wickets in the chase. So many options for Man of the Match with the ball. Boland's three wickets were crucial, arguably sparked the fightback by dismissing Pooran. Ellis was phenomenal with his economy and wickets taking 2 for 11 in four overs as well. Either of those two would be my pick ahead of Malan for his first innings half-century. Hurricanes had a below par total and the bowlers fought back to win this game for them in a complete team effort.

Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat are underway in the second game of today's BBL doubleheader. That's all from this match though. Thanks for following along. Take care!

Maddinson's injury in the opening over of the match proved costly, left the Stars a batsman short, but really they still had the firepower with Maxwell and Pooran together and were in complete control. TV commentators are laying into Andre Fletcher for his lack of production now, far more aggressively than criticism directed toward the domestic Australian talents.

Extraordinary turnaround this game. Hurricanes looked well under par and Stars were cruising at the halfway stage of the chase and the first few overs after with Maxwell beyond 50 but my how the tables have turned in the last 20 minutes.

Ellis to Morris, OUT, yorker cleans him up! Picture perfect full on off stump, Morris tried to back away from leg to create room driving through cover but no chance on that length and the bails fly off.
