10:17 pm That's it. Match has been called off. Thunder win by 4 runs on DLS Method. The par score was 24 after 5.3 overs with two wickets down and they were 28 for 2. So the Sixers miss an opportunity to create some separation between them and the rest of the logjam for second place on the points table behind the Melbourne Stars. It also means the Stars have clinched first place on the table with three games in hand.

Kalyanaraman: "Do you think the teams are suffering from a new epidemic called T20 Fatigue?" Low scores, sub standard fielding etc.,?" I'd sure hope not. They get paid well enough as professionals to not be 'fatigued'.

10:10 pm Word is that 10:23 pm is the cutoff for a restart. That's just over 10 minutes away and the covers are still on with players signing autographs along the boundary. It takes 8 minutes, to get the covers off, so if the covers stay on for another 5 minutes, the match is done and the Thunder will take the two points.

9:48 pm Umpires are waving the covers on. Thunder are currently 4 runs ahead of the DLS part score of 24. Sixers captain Henriques is not pleased, nor was he in the first innings when he was made to keep batting and got out just two balls before play was stopped.

9:05 pm This is the *second lowest ever BBL score for the Sixers, but not the lowest ever. They were six down in the first eight overs after some extravagant movement for the seamers decimated the top order. Credit to Avendano for stretching the innings out or it could have been even uglier for the Sixers. Just about the only thing that seems likely to save them now is more rain. We've already had four overs shaved off. Join us shortly for the chase, which may actually wind up being adjusted on DLS.
