2.08pm Innings break A bizarre innings but Australia still post a monstrous 388. But they were 1 for 200 in the 24th over and lost 9 for 188 from there. Travis Head made a stunning 59-ball century in his first hit of the tournament and his first World Cup innings.
Travis Head: "It's nice to be back with the boys. Nice to contribute. [The hand] went well. It feels good. It's a very good wicket. Davey and I have forged that partnership and tried to go as hard as we can. 388 is a really good score. I think the back end of my innings it started to take spin and they bowled well."
Head and Warner scored 118 in the first 10 overs but it was a battle when both got out. Glenn Phillips bowled beautifully and Australia lost a lot of momentum with Marsh at the crease. But Maxwell, Inglis and Cummins recovered to collar New Zealand late. The Black Caps will need their highest ever World Cup chase to run this down. Shashwat will be back at the start of the chase.
Paul: "Wouldn't have ever picked this innings would end with a spell of 1 run for 4 wickets. "
Chris: "If New Zealand are not be able to chase this huge total down, they'll need to at least make sure they put up a decent performance so their net run rate doesn't take a hammering. "

karlmcg: "Awful day in the field for NZ... frontline bowlers mauled upfront and at the death, very ordinary fielding and Ferguson down. Game's not over but I don't see Australia being as forgiving in the field."
