2.02 pm: Mark Wood - "I thought we started off brilliantly. To get two wickets early on set the ball rolling. The spinners controlled it brilliantly in the middle. Great team performance. Everything is going well (with his ankle). I think I'm in the form of my career, got to keep this going. The pitch was gripping a bit and the spinners said the same thing. I hope I'm not going to be needed (in the chase)! I'm pretty confident we'll do the job."
1.57pm: Sri Lanka end with 232 for 9. You suspect it will not be enough to stop this rampaging England batting line-up, despite the glorious uncertainties of cricket and all that. Mathews ended up with a decent knock, though he struggled to get going in the middle. Picked up well at the end though, and ensured the team lasted 50 overs at least. Avishka Fernando provided the brightest spark for Sri Lanka, and if he hadn't tried a nothing upper-cut, who knows how Sri Lanka's innings would have gone? England bowled superbly of course, but Sri Lanka still have questions off their batting line-up that aren't being answered.
Venky: "So Malinga, the senior most player in the team, had to give a single and bring well settled Mathews to the batting crease but instead he does that. Sums up Srilankan cricket in recent times in a way" - yeah, poor choice of shot
Hugh: "Think that counts as getting a taste of your own medicine, Malinga falling to a leg stump yorker."
