Harry Tector: "I started well and then sort of lost my momentum in the last few overs. I didn't find it easy out there to consistently time the ball, but I'm definitely happy with the way we finished and got a good score on the board. I think this is the sort of wicket where if you try and over-hit and bat in too high a gear, you can lose your timing. You get rewarded for batting in that sort of fourth or fifth gear, hitting good shots, and trying to find the middle of your bat. [Playing for the Sylhet franchise] Anytime you come back to a ground or a country that you have a bit of experience with, you try to use it to your knowledge. I certainly tried to draw on that experience tonight. Hopefully, it's enough. I think 181 is a definitely difficult score to chase. But I guess the proof will be in the pudding in the second innings."

7:40 pm Ireland got off to an explosive start with Paul Stirling setting the tone, hitting two boundaries off the first over. Tim Tector continued the charge, smashing four boundaries in the third over against Shoriful Islam. Tanzim Sakib drew first blood, getting the big wicket of Stirling, but Ireland finished the Powerplay strong at 48 runs with the loss of one wicket. Tim Tector departed after scoring 32 runs off 19 balls when he was caught out at long on while trying to send Rishad Hossain's flighted ball out of the park. Harry Tector and Curtis Campher then built a solid 44-run partnership before Campher was dismissed. Harry Tector was brilliant with the bat, scoring his 7th T20I fifty and remaining unbeaten with 69 runs off 45 balls. The strong finish, with 17 runs off the last over, put the momentum firmly towards the Ireland team. Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up two wickets, with Rishad and Shoriful getting one each. We will be back for the run chase after a short break.
