Scorer: Chetan Kumar | Commentator: Rashad Mahbub

That concludes all the action from us today, folks. Thank you for tuning in and staying with us throughout the match! Do join us again for the second ODI on October 11th. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub, signing off on behalf of Sreshth Shah, Chetan Kumar, and Harshith Gowda. Goodbye!

Afghanistan Captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi: "Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. I'm very happy with the way the team played. That was one of the good games for us, and I'm looking forward to the other games. [Fielding effort and the Run Out of Hridoy] Honestly, I was working very hard on myself, especially on fielding fitness. Today was a good day for me. I did a good run-out and took a catch. I hope I can make my standards even better and be one of the good fielders. I was a good fielder [laughter]. [Team's Performance] Overall, I'm very happy. Our bowlers bowled really well, especially in the middle overs. We were bowling very economically with good line and length, so I'm happy. In the batting also, we started well. Rahmatullah Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah played a good knock. But in the end I am not happy with Rahmat. For Gurbaz, it's okay; it was a good delivery, but Rahmat threw his wicket away. At this level, when we are settled and know the conditions, we should finish the game. [Rahmat Shah's Dismissal] He played well but I am hard on Rahmat Shah because he's a senior guy, and he's done this so many times [Throwing wicket away]. I'm not happy with his dismissal."

Bangladesh Captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz: "We always lost many wickets in the first 15 overs. It's been difficult to bat on this wicket. The wicket was turning a little bit, and we were struggling in that period. The way Tawhid Hridoy played was really good. When the crunch moment came, the batters played calm and cool cricket, and sometimes with a positive intent, but in the end, we are not getting partnerships, and that's the problem. We had a chance. Now we have an opportunity to get better because we know we had some mistakes this match, and we need to learn from these matches as soon as possible. I am confident that our boys will do well in the next match. Already, we lost 40 runs on this wicket. I mentioned that if we could get 260 plus, it would definitely be better, because we are a good bowling side, and we are not giving away many runs. The problem is in the back end; we need to get partnerships."

Player of the Match, Azmatullah Omarzai: "Bismillah. First of all, I want to thank my dear Allah. It was a very tough wicket to bat on. I was speaking to Hashmatullah Shahidi; it was tough even to get a single. Some balls were gripping, and some were skidding, so we didn't know how to get singles. That's why I was waiting for the boundaries. [Successful Review] I knew that I had hit the pitch, so that's why I took the review. I was very confident."

Game Changer of the Match - Rashid Khan

11:47 pm Afghanistan made a statement by winning a hard-fought match just days after losing the T20I series 3-0. They began with a positive attitude, with Ibrahim Zadran establishing the tone with two stunning cover drives against Taskin and Mahmud. With great timing and control, the opening pair put up a fifty-run partnership. The first breakthrough came in the 10th over when Tanvir Islam dismissed Zadran with a turning delivery. The runs then dried up as Atal struggled, departing after scoring just 5 off 15 balls. Rahmatullah Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah had to reconstruct the innings against the tide, battling through a stretch of 73 balls without a boundary in the middle. Their crucial 78-run partnership was eventually ended by Tanzim Sakib and Miraz, who struck back-to-back to send both set batters back. The chase was neck-and-neck until the 42nd over, when Azmatullah Omarzai struck three consecutive boundaries, turning the momentum decisively. Omarzai and Hashmatullah Shahidi scored a 59-run partnership off 70 balls. Omarzai was dismissed for a vital 40 off 44, but Shahidi stayed unbeaten in his 50th match as captain, securing the win after scoring 33 runs. Afghanistan played smart cricket on a tacky pitch, proving that strike rotation was key. Tanzim Sakib was the pick of Bangladesh's bowlers with three wickets. However, the questions will linger for Bangladesh: Did they field a frontline spinner less than they needed, or would an extra 20-30 runs have been enough? Afghanistan had the last laugh in a well-deserved victory. Post-Match Presentation Ceremony coming up shortly.

Orup Ovilashi: "What Bangladesh is lacking in this match can simply be marked as Fizz-fact. Hadn't Mustafizz been rested in this match for work-load management after playing t20i series, Bangladesh would have the fighting chance in defending this low scoring match. "

Subrata: "After 3-0 defeat, this is a superb comeback! AFG, you rock!"

Saif Hassan to Mohammad Nabi, SIX, Has he got enough? Yes, he has! Afghanistan toiled hard for the victory, and their efforts paid off! They've secured a hard-fought win in the first ODI and take a 1-0 lead in the series. Quicker and fuller length ball pitching outside off, Nabi wanted to finish it in style, followed the line of the ball, and blasted it straight over long off to get his team over the line.
