Bangladesh fast bowling coach, Shaun Tait: "We are happy with the total. It is just about workload management. We've had a lot of cricket before this, and now we've got some more series coming up as well. Especially in this weather, we're just keeping them all fresh as we can and making sure the guys outside the team are ready when they are called upon, which they've done a pretty good job so far. [Fast Bowling Group] I think we've got a bit of a luxury where we can do a bit of rotating. It's always a bit of a controversial topic, but when the guys come in and perform, there's less noise about it, so that helps. We're pretty happy with the unit. Nahid Rana is coming in for the ODIs."

BigZ: "Whats wrong with Rishad ? Pitch or Himself ?" Nothing wrong with the pitch out there tonight. Rishad seems to be teasing the batters a bit too much with the flight; he got himself into unlucky situations a few times, though.

Sal: "Bangladesh keep doing the same mistake over and over using the bowlers - Saifuuddin should have finished his quota and Said could have bowled 1 or 2 more, and Jakir probably is unaware that Shamim can also twist his hands! The same mistake caused Pakistan their very first opportunity to win the Asia cup! "

8:15 pm Afghanistan started with attacking intent, but Bangladesh once again drew early blood. Shoriful Islam dismissed Zadran in the third over, and Nasum Ahmed joined the party by getting Gurbaz out, thanks to a lightning-quick catch by Shamim Hossain. A struggling Powerplay for Afghanistan saw them lose three wickets for only 39 runs. Sediqullah Atal was looking in good touch, but he too had to depart after the drinks break. Afghanistan kept losing wickets in clusters as Bangladesh restricted runs with their bowling attack in the middle overs. Dot balls piled up, and whenever the batters went for the pressure release stroke, they tended to mistime the shot or misread the line of the ball. At one point, it looked like a matter of time for Afghanistan to bundle out, but Rasooli's 32 off 19 and Mujeeb Ur Rahman's 23 off 18, batted well in the death overs, getting crucial runs on the board. They added 45 runs in the final two partnerships down the order. Will that late surge haunt Bangladesh? They were a bit sloppy in the death overs with the ball and in the field. Saifuddin picked up 3 wickets, while Sakib and Nasum bagged two wickets each.
