West Indies have earned a lot of respect and all credit to Justin Greaves, who stepped up to the plate and did what looked unthinkable. A Herculean effort and he couldn't have done it without the support of Kemar Roach, who was steadfast and continued in his bull-headed way to keep his end of the bargain. Justin Greaves, Player of the Match:: Special day for me and the team. Kemar, the senior pro, guided me all the way. Coach told me once you get in, stay in. To be a part of history is exciting, but for me, it's one day at a time. For us, it was just about getting into the last session - 100 runs in the last session - but losing Shai was a big thing for us. (On Kemar Roach) Legendary. He inspired me when I came into the Barbados team.

Tom Latham, New Zealand Captain: It was a Test match that had it all. It was a great Test match to be involved in. When you have two of your seamers go down, it's never ideal, and sometimes you have to give credit; the way West Indies played was outstanding (praises Duffy and Foulkes how they didn't complain about extended spells) We'll work out the replacements for the couple of guys over the next 24 hours. Always nice to spend time in the middle and give ourselves a chance to win a Test match. I guess the way he (Rachin Ravindra) played was outstanding and gave us a chance to declare.

Roston Chase, West Indies Captain: I feel lovely -- first points on the board in the Test Championship. Herculean effort by Greaves, proud of him, proud of this moment for him and obviously Roach coming back into the team -- he's a modern-day legend. After the tea interval, I thought we could push, but they batted normally, and we're happy with what the guys did. So much happened today that I forgot about Shai Hope; he's been in good form since the India tour. We know how great a player he is. I think it'll give us a lot of confidence; we know we can compete and win. If we could score a bit more -- probably look at 280-300 in the first innings...and if we can turn up and get that lead early, it'll be great.

Greaves the 4th West Indian and 7th overall to score a double-century in the 4th innings of a Test.

West Indies applied themselves and showed what they are capable of when they put their heart, mind, body and soul into the game because they have it all in their cricket DNA. This performance will surely impress the West Indies legends and their ardent cricket followers, including all the Test match aficionados around the world. In hindsight, you could argue they could have stretched for the win but it might have been a high-risk move after doing the grinding work and could have resulted in heartbreak had they lost wickets in a flurry. The stubborn resistance from the men in maroon will inspire the whole team and they'll back themselves to compete strongly in the remaining Tests. West Indies had a shaky start in pursuit of 531 but Shai Hope was consistent and led the way with a brilliant 140 while Justin Greaves played the perfect foil before taking the lead once he lost his partner. Earlier, Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra stitched together a mammoth partnership of 279 that propelled them to what looked like an impregnable score to bowl out West Indies. All in all, it was a great Test match that will be remembered for a long time
