6:07pm It felt as if that innings lasted forever, and that was because it did. Four hours and some change, and NZ have mustered 269 through the course of it, with Mitchell again the standout in this format. His century came after NZ had been rocked twice in two balls, and gave the hosts the sort of platform they needed to push this score past 260. There were starts for Bracewell and Conway too, but neither could kick on like Mitchell did.
West Indies' over-rate, for most parts, was woeful. They also dropped a lot of catches, but their bowlers did give a good account of themselves. Chase and Seales were the pick of the bunch, with Forde also doing well. This score could have been a lot more (could have been much lesser too), but given WI's recent batting struggles, they will need a big effort to chase this down. Join us in a bit for the start of the second innings!

We have ticked over the four-hour mark, as far as this innings is concerned. NZ up over 260 too. Can they push towards 275? That could be a very good total on this track. Speaking of the over-rate, WI have been penalized and they can have just four fielders on the fence
