Matthew Forde: "[Bowling in New Zealand] I just try to get the ball in the six to eight-meter length. There has been a bit of offer and seam movement, so I've been able to utilize that. Kudos to the groundsmen; I'm enjoying the New Zealand conditions for sure. I found there was a bit more of a spongy bounce here in Nelson compared to Eden Park. There is a bit to offer earlier on. We have been trying to work on our death bowling. After they were about 100 after 10 overs, being able to restrict them to about 177 is a great result. We take that total. There is a bit of movement earlier on, so the Powerplay might be a bit up and down for us. Hopefully, we can capitalize on a bit of loose balls early to get a good start in the chase."
Neutral Fan: "What an amazing bowling performance by WI. Lowest ever score on the ground for T20s as per commentary - great job!"
KJ: "My bad Blackcap fans. Made the mistake of switching on the game thinking they were going well. I never learn. Apologies."
3:04 pm New Zealand were looking strong to post a total around the 200 mark, but they ended up posting the lowest first innings T20I total in Nelson, thanks to a brilliant comeback by the visitors with the ball. The innings started well, with the openers scoring 47 runs in the Powerplay, until Robinson popped a catch back to the bowler on the final ball of the Powerplay. Ravindra and Devon Conway kept the run flow going and stitched together a crucial 50-run partnership. However, Shepherd struck right after the drinks break to get the better of Ravindra. Conway, who was looking in fine touch, was then unlucky to be dismissed by a moment of individual brilliance; an excellent direct throw from Athanaze ended his innings. The West Indies then came back strongly, chipping away at the wickets and not letting any batter settle. The batting collapse was starkly visible in the scorecard: they went from 144/4 to 177/9. Mitchell tried to keep the innings together but was dismissed after scoring 41 runs off 24 balls. Holder and Forde bagged two wickets each, leading the charge. We will be back for the run chase after a short break.

James: "What NZ has not done well this series is getting a single to get the form batter as much strike as possible. Seen it today, saw it at Eden Park. Probably leaving 10 runs or so out there today. "
