Mark Chapman: "It's always nice to strike a couple out of the middle. Hopefully, we've got a good enough score today to defend. Looking at the history of this wicket and how other batters struggled, I think 207 is a really good total. If you had told us we'd get 207 at the start of the innings, we'd probably take it. The pitch is slightly different from yesterday, probably with a little more bounce, so hopefully, our bowlers can extract that. I was just trying to react to the ball, and thankfully, the balls fell into the gaps today. To be honest, I was just enjoying it and wanted to keep going. It's always nice to play in front of your home crowd. I guess I've been a little bit short on runs lately, so I've been working hard in the background. It wasn't just me today; there were contributions throughout, so it's really pleasing to see. I just wanted to keep going."
Ahsan Bhutta: "It is a very teeny tiny ground and this is a very par score, WI should back them to chase this."
Ananya: "90 runs in the last six overs...! WI have thrown it away at the end...!"
9:02 pm The home team got off to a lively start, scoring boundaries with ease in the Powerplay. Robinson displayed an array of gorgeous strokes, primarily using his wrists. New Zealand finished the Powerplay with 47 runs, but Forde kept the pressure on with his inswing deliveries. The early momentum shifted when Devon Conway's struggles continued with the bat, as he was clean bowled by Forde. The very next over, Shepherd struck, removing the danger man Robinson for 39 off 25 balls. But the game changed completely when Mark Chapman launched his counterattack. Despite Auguste dropping a catch when Rachin Ravindra was on 8, Chapman went berserk, smashing three sixes and a four off Shepherd's 13th over. Chapman continued his blistering form, picking up his 10th T20I fifty off just 19 deliveries! He was relentless, even hammering 23 runs off Hosein's 16th over. Chapman finally departed after scoring a devastating 78 runs off 28 balls, but the damage was already done. Mitchell and Santner ensured New Zealand crossed the 200-run mark. Chase picked up two wickets. Forde, Holder, and Shepherd each grabbed one. However, Shepherd, Seales, and Hosein were very expensive with the ball, struggling to contain the powerful hitting of New Zealand batters.
West Indies need 208 runs to win
DanielAlexander: "Santner should have batted a bit higher to make better use of his batting form. "
