So 154 for 5 for Bangladesh. We saw the Lankan bowlers use lots of changes of pace, which suggests this surface isn't as good for batting as Asalanka perhaps expected. Bangladesh are in with a chance, but you suspect that they are 10-15 runs short of a par score. Can their bowlers defend it?

Akindu: "If you offered Srilanka 155 to chase after the power play theyd have taken it with glee"

Thushara to Mohammad Naim, 1 run, Yorker on the stumps. Naim backs away and tries to flay it through the offside, but the length is good, and all he can do is collect a single towards. point
19.5
1
Thushara to Shamim Hossain, 1 run, slower ball full toss, about knee high outside off. Shamim could have done more with that perhaps. Throws his bat at it and toe-ends it away through cover-point
19.4
6
Thushara to Shamim Hossain, SIX, hooked for six. This is lovely from Shamim, who's playing a bit of a gem so far. This was a bouncer right at the throat, he through his bat at it, a little off balance. But he connected well enough to send it beyond the fine leg rope. That was a slower one as well, so he did nicely to adjsut.

Thushara to Shamim Hossain, no run, attempted reverse-hit over short third again, but Thushara has rolled his fingers over the ball and Shamim can't judge the speed well enough
19.2
1
Thushara to Mohammad Naim, 1 run, yorker, right on the money, Naim digs this out and they sprint a single as the ball goes nowhere
19.1
2
Thushara to Mohammad Naim, 2 runs, wide yorker, and that's a slower one too. Naim waits for it, gets low and pokes it through point, into space

6
Theekshana to Shamim Hossain, SIX, that's a hell of a shot from Shamim. Reverse swept powerfully over deep third for six. The fielder there was in the circle, so this is a nicely conceived shot. And with Theekshana bowling another full, fast one at the stumps, he got a great connection, and the fielders watched as it just cleared the rope
18.5
1
Theekshana to Mohammad Naim, 1 run, another flatter one outside off, sliced to point
18.4
1
Theekshana to Shamim Hossain, 1 run, flatter, faster, shorter ball. Shamim tries to chop through the off side but only gets a thick under edge. It dribbles away psst the keeper and they takc one

Shamim is the new batter.

Theekshana to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, OUT, caught at cover. Miraz didn't quite get his offside game going in this innings. This is a fast ball at the toes -almost a yorker. Mehidy goes inside out but can't get the elevation. Asalanka takes a nice overhead catch as he backpedals

Mehidy Hasan Miraz c Asalanka b Theekshana 29 (26m 23b 4x4 0x6) SR: 126.08

4
Theekshana to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, FOUR, poor ball and slashed away. This was too wide of off and too full. Mehidy gets low and slices this over point for a boundary.

1
Theekshana to Mohammad Naim, 1 run, full and fast, into the stumps, driven to long off, without a lot of timing

Thushara to Mohammad Naim, 1 run, full ball just wide of off - a low full toss actually. Driven to long off
17.5
1
Thushara to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 1 run, lovely yorker just outside off, Miraz just digs that out into his own pads and they sprint a quick single
17.4
0
Thushara to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, no run, shuffles to the off side and Thushara follows him with a slower, back of a length delivery. It's way past the wide guide lines on the off side, but the batter has moved so far across, the umpire doesn't call a wide .

Thushara to Mohammad Naim, 1 leg bye, superb yorker and an lbw appeal as Naim got nowhere near close to digging that out, it hits his shoe and they take a leg bye. Pitching outside leg I think, easily turned down.
17.2
4
Thushara to Mohammad Naim, FOUR, this time the scoop works. I think that was a slower one, but Thushara got the length wrong and that ended up being a knee-high full toss. Naim just helps it over his shoulder and picks up an easy boundary
17.1
1lb
Thushara to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 1 leg bye, full, wide of off, Mehidy goes across the line to scoop but gets into a bit of a tangle and is struck on the pad. Naim calls him through for a quick leg bye
