Orup Ovilashi: "Sri Lanka has successfully taken their total score well past beyond the chasing ability of Bangladesh. I will be surprised if SL lose this match."
Ishan Rathnawee: "This is a 300 score pitch. It seems like Sri Lankans are 15-20 runs short"
Palinda: "By scoring 300 ypu get that pspsychological advantage of having run a ball Required RunRate from the begining. SL miss that opportunity today"
Noble: "Fizz didn't get any wicket but his spell is very important to keep SL under 300"
6.25pm So the 280 mark that Charith Asalanka spoke of at the toss has been breached, but Bangladesh allowed just 63 runs in the final 10 overs, picking up 4 wickets in the process. It meant that Sri Lanka will have the distinct feeling of having fallen short, particularly with the platform that Asalanka and Kusal Mendis had set. Their 124-run stand came off 117 deliveries, with Kusal top scoring with 124 and Asalanka 58. If either had been around to see the innings to a close, Sri Lanka would have cleared 300. But as it was Bangladesh - like they had done throughout the innings - stuck well to their plans and forced mistakes out of the Sri Lankan batters. What it means is that it's a score that neither side will be completely happy/unhappy with. Sri Lankan will back themselves to defend this, but Bangladesh will certainly fancy the chase. We'll be back with that in about 30 minutes or so.
